One thing I noticed with last night's grand final, the speed of W has gone up significantly which is a positive, but the skills are still appalling. Like I think less than 50% of the kicks are drop punts, which then makes it near impossible to mark the ball and flows on to everything else. Also when the pressure goes up we see more fumbling, I think using a synthetic ball would help the skill level and therefore the spectacle a decent amount.
I was interested to see North use a grid team defence which is impressive for W footy, my team haven't been able to implement this in their men's side properly for 15 years, so it's a good effort.
There was your typical W wow moment with the double 50m penalty from the lions girls, which makes you wonder if they watch footy outside of their own matches. That incident basically killed off the game, I would be filthy as a teammate.
Also the ratings seemed decent given the game is split across foxtel. 7 did their usual treating the game like shit by only having it on their main channel in Melbourne and Adelaide. Sister act took precedence elsewhere and rated less than the w despite it being on in more cities. Clearly it's important to promote the sister act series for 7 though.
