The SOO Tests are currently set down for Middle of July with just 1 week for 1 test, personally I believe with 6 teams we need a couple of games, the one dayers were possibly too short with just 2 games for each team but now I am happy to change the schedule if others want to, but to play all teams would take a month, so what would people prefer?

We can put aside a month so everyone plays every other team once but those involved could become disinterested

We could do the same as the One dayers, randomly split into 2 groups with just 2 tests

Could play 3 or 4 tests which would see luck of the draw deciding which teams you dont play

Or we can play 5 tests

Personally I feel if we play more than 2 tests then it might be an idea to possibly play them in between rounds over a few rounds so its not a long break between games for everyone, might also start them sooner if thats the case

Also teams dont have to keep the same squad, but players cannot change states

So what do you all think?

BTW the One dayers final is scheduled for May 28th at the end of Round 12

End of season and have a round robin for the SoO tests.
The break is maybe a month too long and this would be ideal, also it gives players a chance to show what they are capable of and end of season gives a greater indication of how good they are.
I also think state of origin should be cut back to 4 teams because too many average players get a game and it should be for the best players in the league.
People probably won't agree but that is how i see it.

But the thing is the fact the 2 Vic sides made the one day final shows there is a huge depth of talent there it would be unfair to the players who miss out and to the rest of the comp :p if they were put into 1 side, you cant really dump SA, NSW, QLD or WA either being a SOO comp

How about just the two games per team, then a four match finals series.

ie. two groups of three teams, each play each other team in their group.
Then 1st in each group play off for a GF spot, and 2nd in each group play at the same time. The winner of the 2nd finishers match plays the loser of the 1st placed teams match for a spot in the GF. There could even be a playoff for 5th and 6th places overall. Should work I reckon, and wouldn't be too long. There could even be a days 1 and 2 posted on the same day to save time.

Badabing, badaboom, badabump :p

That sounds like a good idea, any other ideas, suggestions etc? And are teams keeping the same squads?
