Walsh on target for 50 games from debut of double figure disposals.
Can you believe a kid who hasn't even played 50 games yet, is coming 21st in the league for score involvements, 20th in the league for i50s, 17th in the league for clearances and 5th in the league for average disposals?

With Parks perhaps this becomes an option again, and something we can use when needed.
Bit wierd quoting myself, but interested to know if we played zone or man on man defence against essesdon? It looked like jones was deployed as spare defender in the second half from what i could see on tv.

Was looking at the AFL stats today and pulled out a few things...

McKay
McKay has the most shots on goal at 51, the more scores with 47 scoring shots which 6 more than the next best (Taylor Walker) and is leading the coleman with 30 goals 17 behind
McKay also leads the competition with the most marks inside 50 in the competition and is equal second for contested marks in the comp, 1 behind Gawn on 20

Midfielders
Walsh 7th highest disposal earner in the competition with 240 possessions with 190 effective (79%) which is also more effective disposals than all of the people with more disposals than him except Macrae and Mitchell
Walsh is 10th for score involvements in the comp with McKay 12th and Cripps 21st
Walsh and Cripps 16th and 17th for clearances in the comp

Surprisings
Cripps with the equal most clangers in the competition on 47 from his 195 disposals (25%)
Cripps 9th for contested possessions - often in the top couple in previous years
Docherty 6th for metres gained in the comp with Saad 20th and a 1000 less metres
Surprisingly no-one in the top 25 for turnovers in the competition although Ed is 26th and Saad 41st and Fogarty 45th
Pittonet 3rd for total hit outs and 4th to advantage
Pittonet is 1st in the comp for score launches with 21

Weitering & Jones
Weitering is 1st in the comp for One Percenters with 85 and Jones 9th with 57
Weitering is 1st in the comp for Contested Defence One on Ones with 50 (6 more than 2nd) and Jones is 4th with 43
Weitering is 2nd in the comp for Contested Defence losses at 18% whilst number 1 is Jones at 14%!
Weitering is 2nd for spoils, 2 behind Dougal Howard on 78. Jones is 11th on 50 spoils
Jones 1st for intercept marks and Weitering 11th (37 and 21)
Jones 3rd for intercept possessions and Weitering 6th (75 and 66)

Other Stats
Cunners over the last 4 games (despite only playing 3) is the 22nd best player in the comp according to AFL Stats Pro. Show's he's really having an influence on games. Weitering is 27th int he last month also.
Walsh is 23rd year to date across the competition.

Summary, there is no better key position pairing than Weitering and Jones. Weitering is clearly better playing man on man with more spoils and one percenters whilst Jones strength is his intercepting althoug still very good 1on1. McKay is the most dominant tall forward in the competition right now with his goal kicking, marking on the lead and contested marking a key reason. Walsh is brilliant at everything and one of the in-form midfielders of the competition right now and is balanced across all metrics (including ones i didn't mention. Pittonet is surprisingly fairing far better numerically than the eye test is telling us and should stay in the team with TDK partnering him rather than replacing him. Crippa is struggling :(

Makes you think why are we were we are. Is it because we’ve played 4 of the top 8 sides. All losses. I think it’s a tactical team approach that is costing us as well as our line coaches don’t really have a cohesive plan defensively. Things are definitely looking up. Next year should be better with our depth coming back and full preseasons into a few that should be best 22:

Great work.
McKay, Walsh, Weiters, Jones and Cunners have all been great. Hopefully Cunners can get a clean run at it for once.

Very surprised to see Pitto's hitout to advantage stats.
People still laugh when you try to tell them Jones is one of the best KPDs in the league.
To me, a lot of our failings (falling short in games we could've/should've won) is coming down to selection and positioning on the field.
Playing Levi who is supposedly injured and massively down on form because 'structure'.
Playing SPS off HBF when he kills it every time he's moved to the middle.
Dropping SPS after one of his better games and then making him the med sub.
Not promoting SPS back to the side after getting 14 touches in 50% game time after coming in as the med sub, then making him med sub again.
Bringing Williams back in underdone.
Playing Cripps injured (or not, according to Teague).
Continuing to play Gibbons despite being out of form.
Dropping Dow after a blistering start against Ess before getting injured (but deeming him fit enough to play VFL).
Not taking the opportunity to at least rest Levi in 2 games where ruck wasn't a concern (GC and Ess).

Let's make some positional changes on the field if/when things aren't working.
Move SPS or Stocker into the guts and Williams to HBF. Change up the stoppage group. We rely on a combination of Cripps, Walsh, Ed and Williams too often.

AFL player ratings is perfect for DC. measures positive act- negative act. DC doesn't do much but what he does is first class and makes few errors. Just needs to get a bit more of it.

Not a bad game for someone to have I hear you say. What if I told you that was the output from two players? What if I told you that one of those players was our captain, and the other, a high priced, high profile recruit?
Ok, we all know that Cripps and Williams didn't play to their best on the weekend, and we've all been speculating about the how and why, so no point going back over that.
At what point does putting your hand up to play, when you clearly can't do it to the best of your abilities, become detrimental to the team, and taking away legitimate opportunities for fit teammates to show their stuff?
Throw Setters into Cripps role, and I'd expect him to put up similar numbers to those above. Chuck in a Kennedy or Dow for Williams' spot, and you've already improved the output from both of those roles. Would it have been enough to get us the win? Who knows. Doubt it would have made it any worse though.

This year H averages 3.55 goals, 6.27 marks when Levi plays, 2.17 goals, 4.83 marks when Levi is out

Great stat, hoping Charlie can come back into the side soon. How do the numbers look when it's just Harry and JSOS, without Levi?
