If you go through each category ONE by ONE, you'd find Matches Played is the ONLY category that has a bucket load of Rich/Gee players on the 1st page...surprise surprise they're the 2 Grand Finalists, they totally dominate the 1st page. 18 of the top 20 !!!

No other category will even remotely come close. This tells me if you make reactive willy nilly changes to your team throughout the season, team dynamics will go out the window.

Better to have a stable team and hope they gell (to whatever your team style is). Probably explains why George/Rioli and the likes are entrenched.

Yep, you’d probably find this with all successful teams as to be successful you need to find the right mix. It’d be interesting to dive a little deeper and see if you could pick the future top team(s) that are close to being there but have had bad luck with injuries preventing them from reaching those heights

Richmond and Geelong did play 2 more games than the next best, and 4 more than most clubs, so this is a pretty skewed stat. I'm sure there's a link, but it wouldn't be quite so stark if number of games played was equal.

yeah even tho I did show Average rather than Total, unfortunately there's no way to count only H&A games

ok, here's the team changes round to round, starting from R2, excluding Finals. Team changes could be anything, form, injuries, suspensions, lateouts or personal reasons.

So most of the finalists have low changes, oddly some crap teams have very low changes. Oh well, there goes my theory of team stability leads to success. Potting of George and Rioli can resume.
