Last night, I made some observations regarding Round 7 1999 and Round 7 2017.

In 1999, North Melbourne kicked 10 goals in the first quarter vs Adelaide.
In 2017, North Melbourne kicked 10 goals in the first quarter vs Adelaide.

1999, North won 141-85.
2017, North won 145-86.

The week before the 1999 game, West Coast played Footscray at night.
The week after the 2017 game, West Coast plays Footscray at night.
The venue, Subiaco Oval.

The week before the 1999 game, St Kilda played Carlton.

Something I posted on Facebook.

Some stats observations for Collingwood fans. (Final score 90-72 in Collingwood's favour.)

It was their first H/A win vs Hawthorn since R4 2010.
It was Hawthorn's lowest H/A score vs Collingwood since the above game and lowest overall score vs Collingwood since the 2011 PF.

It was Hawthorn's lowest score conceded vs Nathan Buckley.
Nathan Buckley has now coached in a win vs Alastair Clarkson.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Hawthorn lead 50-7 and the final score represents an 83-22 point turnaround for Collingwood.

BTW, Collingwood beat Hawthorn in the R4 2010 game 123-59.

Collingwood have now been involved in 7 of the 10 highest disposal games by an individual.

3 times by a Collingwood player, 4 times by an opponent of Collingwood.

Also Josh P Kennedy has now had 61 consecutive matches with 20 or more touches equally Pendlebury's all time record.

Sometime over the long weekend or more probably on Monday itself, I thought I heard reference to Callum Brown being the sixth player to debut in the Melb v C'wood June holiday match.

After a study of the details on AFL Tables for Melb v Cwood matches played on those mid-June dates over the years
I think there are 11 names which should be recorded in that list:

1950 Arthur Pound (Melb)
1975 Terry Cahill (C wood)
1977 Brian Cook (Melb)
1983 Brett Cooper (C wood)
1993 Scott Simister (Melb)
2007 Danny Stanley (C wood)
2009 Jack Watts (Melb)
2011 Alex Fasolo (C wood)
2013 Adam Oxley (C wood)
2016 Tom Phillips (C wood)
2017 Callum Brown (C wood)

p.s. Yes, that Brian Cook - the Geelong CEO

These are things I noticed on Friday night. (Please be wary of references to tonight rather than on Friday night.)

57 (Adelaide's margin tonight) - 31 (their margin in the '97 Grand Final) = 26.

This is the 20th anniversary of Adelaide's first premiership vs St Kilda and tonight Adelaide played St Kilda.

The 26 left over = Mark Bickley's number at Adelaide (1991-2003 272 - 77.)

Mark Bickley was the 1997 premiership captain.

Half of 26 is 13.
The number Shane Ellen wore in the '97 Grand Final and the number of current Crows captain Taylor Walker.

Send that s**t into Moons @ numerology for the bounce. That is some awesome s**t!

Prior to tonight, Essendon had gone 34 games between games with a margin of less than 6 points. Usually this is the mark of either dominant or very poor teams. Longest sequences:
