Three players have played at 19 different venues, one being Jack Hombsch.

He has not played at Eureka Stadium although Port did play there in R22, 2017.

He has also not played at Cazaly's Stadium, Port have yet to be scheduled to play there.

1909 - 15y 341d - Wels Eicke (15y 216d; 218 games)

I vaguely recall reading that Wels Eicke had the most different teammates in his career. Can that be confirmed or have I misremembered? I would have thought it'd be someone like Adrian Fletcher, who had a long career and played for five different clubs.

Matthews was leading goal kicker in 1975, not for 1967.

During yesterday’s Blues/Hawks game, Eddie McGuire said it was Carlton’s first scoreless opening quarter since 1990 against the Bulldogs, which he then presumed was the game where Carlton’s only goal was by Mark Arceri with seconds to play.

Actually that was 1991 (Carlton scored 3 points in that opening quarter).

Not only that, but Carlton won that 1990 match easily by 29 points with Simon Minton-Connell kicking 8 goals.

I do not understand fully how you have arrived at some of these averages. Are you dividing home and away goals by games played?

By my reckoning, Callan Ward becomes the youngest player to notch 150 games as captain against St.Kilda on Saturday.

Number of goals / Number of rounds in season, regardless of how many games each player played. So usually dividing by 18 or 22.

Round 17: Jason Johannisen captain of the Bulldogs and playing his 100th game
Round 18: Lachie Hunter captain of the Bulldogs and playing his 100th game
Round 19: Marcus Bontempelli (expected to be returning) captain of the Bulldogs and playing his 100th game
This is a beauty.

Sorry for the gambling advertising... I hate graphics like this. I feel whenever referring to AFL history it should incorporate all records back to 1897 unless indicated. This is obviously false, can someone check when’s the last time this happened?

I agree. Not a good look at all.

University played 126 games in VFL 1908-1914. As far as I can tell that club never scored 100 points in a match.

Fitzroy go 72 games without a 100 between Rnd 12 1951 up to and incl Rnd 8 1955.

It's certainly not even close to being a competition record, and I agree with the point you make about this.

St Kilda didn't score 100 points+ in a match for the first time until Rd. 6 1907 (their 173rd match) - so 172 games played without reaching that figure.
Fitzroy Rd. 16 1906-Rd. 7 1914 - 139 games.
Carlton didn't score 100+ points in a match for the first time until Rd. 17 1904 (their 134th match) - 133 games played without reaching that figure.
South Melbourne didn't get there until Rd. 6 1904 (their 123rd match) - 122 games played without reaching that figure.

Plenty of clubs had long spells back in the early days where they failed to reach the 100 point mark (with well over 50 such games played in succession): Essendon had no 100 point scores during the 1902-1905 seasons, Geelong 1904-1909 and 1914,1915,1917,1918,1919 seasons, Melbourne 1903-1907 and 1910-1914 seasons. Obviously University never got there. St Kilda didn't manage the feat in the 1952-1955 seasons.

The most recent patch of 50+ games where a team failed to score 100 points appears to be Footscray: Rd. 5 1964 - Rd. 10 1968 - 78 games played without reaching that figure.

After Footscray in 1967, the only years where a team has gone through a season without a 100 point+ score have been: 1972 North Melbourne, 2014 Melbourne and 2017 Carlton.

no doubt they are referring to AFL history, rather than VFL/AFL history
It does say AFL history, I guess they're not counting the VFL years.

EDIT: what he said.
It is obviously correct they are referring to 1990 onwards, yet some people may not get that, so if they had just said "AFL era" that would have been better.

Or "since the VFL changed its name to the AFL."
