I've got six players down as living to 99. Maybe someone has reached 100 and is still alive, but it's hard to tell since some DOD's are missing.

The top three of course were latecomers and benefit from a higher standard of living. This is een even more clearly in the low figure for University, whose last surviving player died in 1986. Low figures for the newer clubs are due to random early deaths.
Just checking the AFL Season Guide (p. 760 - Oldest Living League Players), there's Keith Rae (Carlton/Richmond) who should turn 104 next month, and Jim Miller (Footscray) should have just gone 102. The last two players on that list (of four) have died, with Richmond's Don Benson dying in 2019, aged 99, and mistakenly included in this year's book, despite being on the obituaries page last year!

Can probably see the impact of WW1 reflected in the stagnating figures for the 1880's and 1890's. Plenty still alive from the 1930's onwards who will boost the figures for those decades.

Maybe the numbers will turn out not to be below the national male average after all.
