These wins were three of their total of four for the year. They went down to eventual Premiers, Fitzroy by 11 and 15 points. The ‘Bloods’ biggest lost of the year was by 84 points to then last-placed, Geelong.

Best/Worst Result from 10 Consecutive Games

In 2011 Collingwood recorded their third best ever result from 10 consecutive matches – falling short of their best ever on for and against percentage by 53.14%.

Collingwood’s best result in 2011 of 10 wins and no losses with a for and against percentage of 207.67 from round 10 to 20 fell short by 0.33% of the best result from 10 consecutive matches since 1997.

Although Gold Coast had the worst first season result of any team entering the League after 1897, their worst result from 10 consecutive matches enters the table placed 3rd least worst – ahead of Collingwood in 4th least worst place.

The worst result from 10 consecutive matches since 1997 remains with Carlton – rounds 13 to 22 in 2003.

I hope the term "subsequent improvements" makes sense. Obviously the first total beside each player's name is the total of goals they kicked on debut, with each subsequent improvement throughout their career then being shown. This means a player such as John Coleman does not appear. After his well known total of 12 on debut, he only eclipsed this on two occasions.
In compiling this, I have only dealt with players who have kicked 400 goals or more, so there could be others who fit into this list.

In relation to the above...most times a personal best has been recorded without being bettered, for tallies of 0-18 goals:

AvAll - average age of all players
AvExR - average age of main list only
Gms22 - average games for 22 most experienced players on main list (i.e. by games played)

When Richmond won the premiership in 1980, they kicked a total of 3124 points, including finals games. This is the nearest any team has come to scoring their postcode in a season; with the postcode for Richmond being 3121.

More for the Silly Season.

On the 3rd of June 1899 both Essendon and Fitzroy scored 3.6
On the 7th of August 1976 both St Kilda and WB/Footscray scored 7.8

There have been just 32 occurrences of a team scoring the same number of goals and behinds as the number of the day and month on which the match was played (day/month). The above are the only times more than one team has managed it on the same day.

The most recent was Adelaide’s 8.5 on the 8th of May 2011.

The longest gap in occurrences was after St Kilda’s 8.5 on the 8th of May 1954 until WB/Footscray’s 10.8 on the 10th of August 1974.

The most (13) have occurred in August.

Three of the last 7 occurrences have been by Fremantle.
11.6 on the 11th of June 1995
11.6 on the 11th of June 2000
12.8 on the 12th of August 2005

The highest score corresponding to the date of the match is 18.8 by Fitzroy on the 18th of August 1990.

St Kilda has done it the most – 6 times (last 7th August 1976), followed by Essendon – 4 times (last 9th of August 1913).

Of clubs that have played more than 1,500 matches, Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn have never done it.
