Any good (or not so good) stats about the Pies' meagre crowd yesterday?

Today three of the major leagues have a 'Battle of the Big Cats' game scheduled between the Tigers and Lions. In the AFL the Richmond Tigers play the Brisbane Lions; in the VFL the Werribee Tigers are matched with the Coburg Tigers; while in the WAFL there is a game between the Claremont Tigers and the Subiaco Lions.

Unfortunately there are no Lions in the SANFL and no longer any Tigers in the NEAFL, so Glenelg and Brisbane Reserves don't get a similar game in these leagues.

Unless there is some wildlife/conservation theme that led to all these Tigers vs. Lions games being scheduled on the same day, this is an amazing coincidence in the fixtures and something that wouldn't come up very often.

That was game #75 when he kicked 12.3 out of St Kilda's 14.8.

If you curious about all of them this is what I can share of what I found yesterday.

Nth 27.28 average years old. 1 teenager and 3 players below 23 years old
Hawks 27.07 average years old, 0 teenagers and 4 players below 23 years old
The remaining 16 clubs had those figures in relation to what I was looking over for my own interest.

The most interesting surprise as I posted yesterday was to find GWS fielded an older team than Swans and are now in the top half of oldest teams in the league. It really highlights in their fifth season they are no longer some young side with limited experience and have slowly but surely got their list age profile in a position of removing the training wheels and a genuine premiership contender not be taken lightly.

Other things of note are both Queensland based clubs youngest teams in the league and Melbourne have over half their team on weekend under 23 year olds. The most of any club in league and setting it up nicely to pass on baton to next coach to make them a finalist in 2017.

I calculate Hawks 1982-1990 have 151.5 wins over 9 seasons. Add on 1991 and it's 165.5 wins over 10 seasons. So it's pretty close.

If you use win percentage to adjust for different season lengths then the Melbourne 1950s and Collingwood 1920s might come into play too.

Eg Collingwood went at 86.7% over 5 seasons. Geelong only 84.5%.

Andrew Mackie played in his 50th career defeat at the hands of the Hawks...in his 217th game. Would he have played the most games of anyone before reaching that mark of defeats?

After 217 games:
Joel Selwood (R13, 2016): 167W 49L 1D (less losses)
Andrew Mackie (R22, 2014): 167W 50L

After 218 games:
Andrew Mackie (R23, 2014): 168W 50L (more wins)
Joel Selwood (R14, 2016): 167W 50L 1D

Michael Tuck, who surely will never have his tally of played wins (302) ever be exceeded, i wonder what his incremental margins of victory from 1 point goes up to? I doubt Joel Selwood will play until he's 36 or more, as i'd suggest he'd be the youngest player with the greatest number of wins so far.

Edit.....Noting that Selwood has played in 169 wins, the same as Matthew Pavlich, who has played in 129 extra defeats. Pav's 349 games are without a draw, that would be quite unique in itself for such a large career tally would it?
