He got that horribly wrong, no matter how you look at it! 1997 was the last time it happened from what I can see.

Lowest crowd to witness a draw today?
 
Carlton start and finish each year very poorly.

In the last 3 seasons, Carlton have gone 1-13, 1-12 and now 1-14. I hope the supporters are patient.

Maybe a dumb question, but would North with two 'Z' surnames playing in the same team be the only such case..well Zurhaar has played 5 games, so maybe now 5 with Ziebell. Any other sides have two Z's play together?

I don't know but Essendon could join Norf with Zaharakis and Zerk-Thatcher.

Whilst on the topic of North, I can’t imagine they have finished the round with the highest percentage since at least the 90’s.

From what I can see here, it wouldn't have happened (with any other players) in the AFL/VFL: https://australianfootball.com/players/player_list/Z

Zanchetta, Jordan (2018) (Brisbane WFC) and Zielke, Emma (2017-2018) (Brisbane WFC) would have played together this year in the AFLW (5 games).

Ziebell missed two of the games Zurhaar played last year so that would have been their third game together!

Round 22 1996 should be the last time North had the highest percentage at the end of a round (127.45%). North sat second on the ladder at the time.

Richmond obviously have a chance to trump you tomorrow night should they win well enough.
 
This took me a while to produce. The thinking is I'd like to do it for every ladder position.

How to read it:
- eg. Best record (1987-) for a 1st placed side after 6 games is West Coast in 1991 (6-0, 206.0%)
- eg. Worst record (1987-) for a 1st placed side after 6 games is Collingwood in 1997 (4-2, 136.8%)

That 1997 was one of the most even seasons ever; no real standout top side and only one genuinely poor side (Melbourne won the wooden spoon by 4 games and 27%).

To highlight how even it was, Fremantle finished 12th but if they'd won their final game they would've played finals.
 
Between 1920 and 1962 no team kicked any of:
  1. no score in Q1 and Q4
    • this last occurred in the infamous Albert Park match where St. Kilda did not score in Q1 and Q4, and in the latter quarter South Melbourne scored 17-4 (106), which is the record quarter score and exceeded the record quarter aggregate score until 1975)
  2. one behind in Q1 and no score in Q4
  3. no score in Q1 and one behind in Q4
Yet, case (2) occurred three times, all against Geelong, in two seasons and eight rounds:
  1. Round 4, 1963 by North Melbourne
  2. Round 1, 1965 by Footscray
  3. Round 12, 1965 by Footscray
In their two games against Geelong in 1965, Footscray scored just 6-11 (47). Of that 3-7 (25) was scored in the two third quarters.

Since the Round 12 game, no team has scored one behind in Q1 and nothing in Q4. However, two teams have scored nothing in Q1 and one behind in Q4:
  1. South Melbourne against Essendon in Round 17, 1965
  2. Collingwood against North Melbourne in Round 13, 1987
It’s remarkable the four “near misses” of failing to score in Q1 and Q4 in 1965, and only two equivalent cases since 1920 apart from that!

Sounds a little familiar. Danny Frawley went 3-11, 1-13 and 0-14 after Round 8 in his last three years. Then the Wallace era began...

One of the most accurate games just finished. With 3:10 to go, Boak had a shot from straight in front, 35m out.
The score was WC 16.5 to PA 9.3 (75.76% combined accuracy)

He missed, and 3 further behinds were scored. That is, 4 of the games 12 behinds were scored in the last 3:10!
Final score: WC 16.6 to PA 9.6 (67.57% combined accuracy)
