Is there any record of behinds after the siren to win? I can only think of Pluggers famous one.
From AFL Record Season Guide 2013:-

BEHIND AFTER SIREN TO WIN GAME

A very small list that one - it probably should say "known cases only".

And may as well add this:-

BEHIND AFTER SIREN TO DRAW GAME
Bert Whittington (Geel) 1911 Rd. 2 Geelong 7.12 (54) v Melbourne 7.12 (54) CO
Matthew Lloyd (Ess) 2002 Rd. 14 Essendon 17.16 (118) v W Bulldogs 18.10 (118) D

The 1972 game was clearly one for the ages, with the Cats coming from 49 points down at 1/2 time and obviously sneaking home at the end:- http://stats.rleague.com/afl/seas/1972.html#20

This game gets a mention in the list of BIGGEST COMEBACKS in the book mentioned above.

This topic does get a mention here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kicks_after_the_siren_in_Australian_rules_football

Behind to win
Harry Hickey Footscray d Carlton 1944 89-88

While Wikipedia's reputation for reliability is well known, there is an excerpt from an article in The Argus that tells the story of the last gasp (and seemingly very controversial) win.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/11359509

Edit:- I see Peter Sumich's late shot for West Coast vs Collingwood in 1990 gets a mention as a kick after the siren - Behind to draw. It doesn't belong there, as you can clearly see by watching this:-

The Michael Voss one appears to be the same, as it wasn't a kick after the siren. Don't know about the Greg Wells one.

Does anyone know a website where I can pull or export current and past AFL data into MS Excel?

Preferably where it looks clean and is easy to create tables off.

I'm mainly after fixtures so I can create strength of schedule calculators and I want an easy copy&paste without unnecesary dates and venues etc.

What percentage of games are won by the home team?
Happy for a 1 year, 5 year, 10 year figure doesnt matter.

Numbers are for the officially designated home teams, e.g. Richmond v Gold Coast in Cairns is a Richmond home game. Excludes finals.

Can anyone produce a graph of season-by-season kicks/handballs per team per game? Seems the big possession numbers are really down from where they were a few seasons ago.

Here's a crude one.

Thanks, wow I would have thought it'd be a lot higher advantage for the home team.

can do when only involving an interstate team?

Topical question with the amazing longevity of Dustin Fletcher, but would there be many other players who will play a match with the son of a team-mate (Anthony>Joe Daniher) who was not born when that player played with the father? That cartoon in today's Hun was quite telling, Dustin's ability to be playing his 21st season of footy at this level is astounding....as perhaps is the fact that only five of Dustin's seasons have seen him play 20 or more games!

I'm not set up to do a full search as yet, but looking at the ten father-son combinations with the shortest gaps between father retiring/son debuting, there aren't any. Will have a closer look over the weekend.

Furthering on from that, what's the record for the biggest age gap between the oldest player's year of debut and the youngest player in the league?

E.g. Robert Harvey (born, 1971) made his debut in 1988, 2 years before then 18 year old Trent Cotchin was born.

Also, with the amount of players born in 1993 and 1994 on current lists, the majority of them born after Dustin Fletcher's debut game, what's the record for most players on a VFL/AFL list born after an older player's date of debut?

It's impossible to tell before 1985, as votes weren't associated with individual games.

This was posted a few years ago so there's probably more of them now. The thread got bumped on the main board.

Noticed Heath Grundy's name on the top.

Wondering if any other guys who got brownlow votes on debut went a such a run of "no success" as heath did in the award. Only received 2 votes since. for a total of 3 from ~124 games.

so i guess the criteria would be, polled votes in first game, and had less than 5 career votes, or less than 0.05 votes per game over 100+ games?

EDIT: in hindsight, the list of players who recieved brownlow votes on debut is so short, you could just list them alongside their career games and career brownlow votes and i can look at them all. save you guys having to set any additional criteria... cheers lads.

What is the largest percentage a team has held which was increased the following week? After round 6, 1991, West Coast had a percentage of 200.4. After an 82 point victory in their next game, this increased to 206.0. Can any team better this?
Conversely, what is the lowest percentage that decreased the following week?

geelongs went up about 10 after 186 win over melbourne.

more likely a team that had a percentage much lower than those two teams to begin with have had mass increases on the back of huge wins.

EDIT: Round 7 1992 Geelong went from 143 to 165.
