First three winners this round all scored 112: 17.10, 16.16 and 15.22. Have there been any other instances of the same score three times in a round with different G.B breakdowns?

First three winners this round scored 112.
Next two winners this round scored 104.
Adelaide won with a score of 129.

Let's see if this stat can be added to on Sunday.

At the beginning of the round, West Coast were a mathematical chance of making the finals. You wouldn't think so given that they ended their season with scores of 41, 39 and 43. In modern day football (1970-), where would a 3 match streak of 123 points rank?

I know one that beats it. Again, West Coast, Rds 13-15, 1989 with scores of 41, 50 and 18 (total 109).

Worst for GWS: (126). Worst for GC: (153).

What about the best streak of high scores in a 4 game block excluding Geelong 1989?

All these records involving "making the finals" don't really stack up in my opinion. Essendon still finishes eighth, they just don't qualify for finals.
Which is what they should have done, didn't change the results, didn't change the points, why change the finishing position? I really want to just ignore this faux 9th thing myself.

As an Essendon supporter, I wasn't fussed that we were kicked out of the finals. But I didn't want us to 'win' a wooden spoon.

Just to be pedantic about Steven and Montagna's 47 disposals. Given that the previous record for St Kilda was Robert Harvey's 45, which of the two guys yesterday was first to have a) their 46th disposal, and b) their 47th disposal?

Thus who broke the old record of 45, and who established the new record of 47?

Thirteen teams registered a century score this week. Only five teams (Melbourne, GWS, Fremantle, west coast and essendon) failed to score a hundred points. I'm sure there have been weeks when more teams won and records like this are always inflated by the fact that there are more teams in the league now but I'm curious, what is the record and when was it recorded. I could research it myself as I would only need to check 1987 onwards when there were fourteen teams. Has their ever been a round where every participant scored over a hundred?

Round 10, 1982 is the only round ever played where every team scored at least 100 points. (All 12 in this case.)

Range: WB/Footscray 15.10-100 to Fitzroy 25.11-161

In round 4 1978, the lowest score was 98 points.
In round 3 1985, the lowest score was 98 points.
In round 3, 1984, the lowest score was 97 points.

I believe Round 3, 1985 was (and is) the highest scoring round ever. And, I think it was also the hottest round ever in temperatures.

The 1,617 aggregate points in round 3 1985 was the highest for a 6 match round in the 12 team competition.
Next highest: 1,577 in round 6, 1978.
3rd highest was 1,550 round 3, 1984.

I don't have the data to verify if it was the "hottest" round but it should be noted that one of the round 3, 1985 matches was played on the 23rd of March and the rest were played on the weekend of April 13-14.
