I should never doubt you Ron The Bear! I noticed that some of your ages differ by 1 day from *Paul*'s tables so I checked the accuracy (of the 3 below) using the TimeAndDate calculator. And your ages are correct, Paul's are wrong, at least according to TimeAndDate.

Albert Collier, GF 1926 was 17y92d rather than 17y93d
Ken Newland, SF 1965 was 16y123d rather than 16y124d
Len Fitzgerald, SF 1945 was 16y131d rather than 16y132d

It’s a bit tricky with leap years. I find the player’s most recent birthday then add the days since then, rather than doing a DateDiff-type calculation between DOB and match date and dividing by 365 or 365.25 which might produce the effect you’ve described. Not sure what method Paul is using.

Worst winless starts by 2 or more teams?

Brisbane and Carlton will both likely be 0-7 tomorrow.

I have a couple of questions, first has any player ever gotten what I call a 5x5? At least 5 each of kicks, handballs, marks, tackles and goals? In todays Bris vs Coll game Zorko was 1 goal short and De Goey 2 tackles short. I can't imagine it has happened all that often, and I can't work out how to filter the stats on the afltables site.

Second has a game ever had a scoreline of 7.7.49 vs 3.9.27?

I have the "5x5" being achieved 39 times:

7.7 (49) has been a final score 105 times, 3.9 (27) 37 times (twice in a Grand Final), but (as Redman said) never in the same game.

Thanks for that. Interesting that most are from the last 10 years, although I don't think tackles have been counted until relatively recently.

Richmond beat Fremantle by 77 points today despite having a goalless quarter.

What’s the biggest win in VFL/AFL history by a side that had a goalless quarter?
St Kilda 16.21 (117) vs. Fitzroy 2.3 (15) [102 pts] 1963 Rd. 14 - St Kilda 0.4 at 1/4 time

90+:
Western Bulldogs 24.9 (153) vs. Melbourne 8.7 (55) [98 pts] 2015 Rd. 20 - Western Bulldogs 0.2 in 3rd qtr.
Geelong 18.13 (121) vs. South Melbourne 3.10 (28) [93 pts] 1925 Rd. 10 - Geelong 0.1 in 2nd qtr.
Footscray 20.11 (131) vs. Fitzroy 5.11 (41) [90 pts] 1958 Rd. 16 - Footscray 0.0 at 1/4 time

In today's Herald-Sun, Nat Fyfe was awarded three votes for the newspaper's Player of the Year award, despite Freo losing by 77 points. If the umpires follow suit and award Fyfe three Brownlow votes, would Fyfe have played in the largest loss to garner three Brownlow votes?
I know somebody made a post some years ago about players who have received three Browlnow votes in a game where their team lost by 40 points or more, but with so many pages in this thread (which isn't a bad thing) it is hard to remember where to find particular posts.

I'd look at Ablett whilst at the Suns.

Indeed I did...
2012
R1 69 loss to Crows 3 votes
R2 92 loss to saints 3 votes
R10 97 loss to Pies 3 votes

There's probably others.

What's the biggest loss by a side that lead (or had scores level) at quarter time? And what about at the other two breaks as well.

Richmond 5.3 13.7 24.11 34.18 (222)
1980 Rd. 16 SCG - St Kilda led by 10 points at 1/4 time but lost the game by 152 points.

1/2 time:
North Melbourne 3.5 4.10 10.13 22.16 (148)
Fremantle ****0.4 5.7 6.10 8.12 (60)
2000 Rd. 10 MCG - Fremantle led by 3 points at 1/2 time but lost the game by 88 points.

3/4 time:
Sydney *4.2 8.7 12.13 12.20 (92)
Hawthorn 4.3 7.9 12.13 22.17 (149)
1993 Rd. 2 SCG - Sydney were level at 3/4 time but lost the game by 57 points.

Sydney **1.4 5.13 9.15 20.24 (144)

That three of those are at the SCG just illustrated (before its redesign especially) how much a high-scoring ground it used to be regularly.

Indeed, not far from breaking the 1/4 time record was Swans v Dons at SCG in 1987 where Swans were only up by 2 points at quarter time and won by 163.

That was probably biggest shock result/margin heard in all the seasons I followed football. Just think, Essendon on last day of September 1985 are thrashing Hawks in grand final with 11 goals in last quarter. If any person said within 18 months later Essendon would lose to Swans by 163 points, they would have locked that person in a looney bin with nice padded cell.

And while Essendon declined significantly in 1987, they were in good form leading up to that match, including beating West Coast in WA just a couple of rounds before.

Anyone know where to get goals conceded to direct opponent stats? Is it in the annual prospectus or can you get it through a weekly service as well?
