In relation to kicking the year or kicking the date, I believe Melbourne are the only team to have their Points For or Points Against equate to a particular year. This occurred in 2004 when they finished with 1900 Points Against at the end of home and away games, and then conceded 104 to Essendon in their only final.

That belongs to Melbourne alone.

The next nearest in points conceded to the year:
Hawthorn 1,944 in 1945
Sydney/SM 1,971 in 1970

The nearest for points scored
Richmond 1,935 in 1933
Geelong 1,932 in 1934
Richmond 1,988 in 1990.

Can someone provide me with a list of players based on most premierships played in without playing in a losing grand final?

No player who played in a drawn GF has played in more than 2 GF's without losing one.

It's going to take me a while to get used to the new BigFooty. I almost don't want to visit until things are improved :(

Was going to ask a question about which players that played against Dustin Fletcher debuted the longest time ago, but can probably fish it out myself. Looks like a tie between Dale Weightman and Doug Hawkins who both debuted in Round 1, 1978. One of Dustin's teammates goes further back though, Tim Watson who debuted in Round 7, 1977.

Which players have the most career goals without having been a leading goalkicker for their club/s?

And how about the leaders for each club?

Which players have the most career goals without having been a leading goalkicker for their club/s?

And how about the leaders for each club?

Would you be considering leading goalkicker tallies at the end of the H&A season, or at the completion of finals?

If it's the former, then Dermott Brereton never headed Hawthorn's goalkicking tally. If the latter, then he did (1985).

If Dermie's out - then Michael Tuck (320 goals) would take the cake.

Andrew McLeod (275) is Adelaide's leader.
Rod Ashman (370) is Carlton's.

I see Collingwood had 8 multiple goalscorers today, which seems like a rather high number. I'd like to know what the record team high is for the competition (and also Collingwood, at least).

Thanks very much for the reply, Ron. Looks like I didn't word the question well enough but I really was looking for the record number of players in a team who had scored 2 or more goals in the one game (multiple goalscorers).

You worded it OK, I just didn't read it properly.

eagles leading the way on the big day :)

keeping with the theme of grand finals from earlier, what grand final team has been the most experienced team in terms of grand finals played?? has any team run out on the field with 100 grand finals experience amongst their playing squad?? i'd imagine hawthorn 1991 would have to go close.... melbourne late 50's the only other team to even have a chance of getting there....

and you'd also imagine the greatest disparity in grand final experience is from that 1991 game v eagles where the eagles were playing off in the first grand final...??

EDIT: talking about the amount of grand finals in the team running out on the field on the actual grand final day.... although maybe could even look at grand final experience in non grand final matches too??
