Perhaps this didn't include centre bounces, i.e. 91 was the 'stoppage count'?

Yes, probably correct.
Which would add 29 to the 91, for a total of 120.
Which means my question now is, does this mean that a "hit-out" stat is recorded for almost every ball-up/throw-in, no matter how ineffectual?

In 2012 84.7% of stoppage restarts led to a hitout.

21.4% of stoppage restarts led to a hitout to advantage - 25.3% of hitouts
12.0% of stoppage restarts led to a hitout sharked (to the opposition's advantage) - 14.2% of hitouts

Thank you very much, that is really what I wanted to know.

Jim Cullen made his (VFL) debut in Round 1 1899, playing for Essendon. Just a few weeks later he played his first (and only) game for South Melbourne. My question is, has there been any other player who played for a second club in the same year that he made his competition debut?

Cullen certainly had an odd career - 3 games in total at 3 clubs. He was also at a fourth club (Melbourne) but didn't play a game. Clearly he was something of a football nomad, but it would be interesting to know the story behind why he left his first club when he had only just made his debut there.

Great work, Ron. Thank you very much indeed. I really was expecting a much smaller list. The idea of a player changing clubs so soon after making a debut seems strange to me, but obviously going back to the earlier days of the competition it did happen every now and then.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anybody know which player has the least effective career statistically?

There are quite a few players whose career lasted just one AFL/VFL game, but are there any whose solitary game failed to gather a statistic, had just one handball or worse still, gained no posessions but conceded one or more free kicks?

These players registered zero disposals in their only game. Couple of intriguing ones - Andy Demetriou, and the appropriately named Barry Ough (well I'm pronouncing it 'O', anyway).

Thanks Ron The Bear, there were quite a few of them.

Richmond have taken Knights (Adel), Edwards (NM), Chaplin (Port), Petterd (Melb), Lonergan (Ess) and Stephenson (Geel).

When was the last time a club recruited as many as 6 players, from other clubs, in one off-season ?

I know Carlton did it in 02/03, under Pagan, but that was very unusual circumstances.

2010 - Brisbane took Fevola, Buchanan, Staker, X.Clarke, Raines & Maguire.

Must admit to being concerned at this change of direction from my club. Difficult to see how Hardwick can survive if 2013 is a failure.

I will confess that this is somewhat of a trick question. His initials are J.E. And he was actually on the playing arena for all 9 draws.

Wondering if someone can answer this, also where is the best place to run a query like this?

Cheers!

Can you tell me how many players managed to get 3721 kicks, 1111 handballs, 437 tackles, 234 free kicks, 298 goals and 278 behinds please?

I suggest lighting up a joint and joining the hippie commune on the recreational drugs alternate reality thread.
