This will be the place to collect links/recourses that may be of some value.

I'd encourage linking to statistics pages from other sports which may prove relevant in AFL football as well as AFL stats pages. If you do post a link to statistical research in another sport that you think could have some carry-over, please preface it with a sentence or two about why you believe it could prove useful.

One of the only sites you'll need until the AFL unlocks itself from the grasp of Telstra.

When that day comes, fingers crossed they decide to make the definitive sporting website, something akin to cricinfo.com, complete with match reports, stats, highlights (if available) and detailed player biographies going back for all time.

One can hope (and dream) can't they?

Does anyone have champion data's afl prospectus? I'd like to know what players stats are provided from the last few seasons, in particular disposal efficiency, clearances, contested marks and other similar stats.

It has minutes spent on the ground, kicks, kicking efficiency, handballs, handballing efficiency, disposals, disposal efficiency, kick to handball ratio, contested possessions, % of possessions contested, uncontested possessions, % of possessions uncontested, marks, contested marks, uncontested marks, goals, behinds, goal assists, score assists, free kicks for, free kicks against, scoring accuracy, hitouts, hitouts to advantage, % of hitouts to advantage, inside 50's, marks inside 50, ball gets inside 50, rebound 50s, marks from opposition kicks, spoils, clearances and tackles. :thumbsu:

A question for the fellow stats-minded out there...

Is anyone aware of an online resource which discloses minutes played per player/round for the current 2009 season?
 
So there is no way to get AFL approved stats in the format that someone like pro-stat uses, on a week by week basis?

Its very annoying you can have a resource like cricinfo's stats guru (which admittedly is the best in the world) and yet we can't get stuff all from the AFL.

Hi Guys,

We released a new stats page on BigFootySX yesterday:

It's still a little primitive but at the moment you can flick through the following stats:

- Goals, Disposals, Marks, Hitouts, Kicks, Handballs, Tackles, Frees For, Frees Against, Points Scored (Goals+Behinds), Ranking Points and Average Ranking Points.

It's got a neat little interface, and you can filter the stats to only include players from a combination of one or more clubs.

Stats go all the way back to 2000 for all current players.

anyone know where you can find time on ground stats??

i saw them somewhere earlierr this year but can't 100% remember where. i think i was reading melbourne's herald sun, but why would they not have that stat on their web-site if they have it in their hard copy newspaper??

Is there anywhere that I can get all stats from 2000 - present including clangers, ineffective kicks, etc....Or is it only available through Champion Data..??

That's basically the intended function of the "supercoach" score compiled by Champion Data. But it fails for a tremendous number of reasons (small sample size, lack of transparency/review, etc...)

pro-stats website has tog stats.

click on player stats and choose the relevant options from the cick down menus
