I thought that too, but I think it means "Percentage of disposals that are kicks", not "Kicking efficiency".

Yep. 88.46% -- 23 of 26 disposals have been kicks.

Have always felt we got scored against a lot in time on, particularly the last minute..

Is that first graphic, does "Proportion of points score in "time one" mean points scored against for for?
That is, Carlton at 47.35% being the highest, is that we score more than any other team in time on or do we get scored against more than anyone in time on?

The first one is just points for, showing us best.
The second one is nett, showing us still 2nd best

A comparison between Carlton and Geelong in terms of differentials.

Carlton/geelong

Disposals (+25/-13)
Inside 50s (+12/-2)
Metres gained (+290/+220)
Contested possessions (+17/+4)
Uncontested possessions (+19/-20)
Clearances (+5/-2)
Marks (+17/+12)
Contested marks (+5/+4)

All the above show that we have Geelong covered in either areas that I thought Geelong were good at, or areas that Carlton are strong

Below are the areas that Geelong have us covered:

Scores from turn over (+3/+12)
This is geelongs best score source hence why they let teams monopolise the ball
Scores from the forward half (+10/+18)
Here I thought we were great but Geelong are much better.
Pressure acts (-14/+20)
I don’t really get this stat if you can dominate in tackles but lose by so much in pressure acts

I guess one can bring up lots of stats that can tip a game in your favour, that's all well and good but if you dont being heat, intensity and tackle pressure, stats mean nothing.

For us it seems to be those frustrating ones with less than one or two minutes left. When we just needed to ice the quarter.
If you recall against West Coast, we held them goal less in the 3rd until the dying minute. I know it didn't matter, but I was filthy because to me it was a lack of attention to detail. Ruthless sides that are well led dont let something like that happen. If it was the last and we were leading by less than kick, we lose the game. So if nothing else, it should have been practice the scenario of icing the game.

Yep and stat lines get inflated in some areas when you play teams like the Eagles & North compared to Geelong who haven’t had their chance to maul them yet!!

Ollie hollands - 4th overall (1st amongst Carlton players) for metres gained. 83% disposal efficiency, 3rd on the ground when above 20 disposals. 5 score involvements and 7 tackles. Ranked number 1 for pressure amongst Carlton players.

Carlton as a whole when at 77% disposals efficiency v Geelong which was 10% above our season average.

Despite our worst loss of the season we’re still in the window. Probably needs another 2-3 games to settle as our stats are swayed by the north and west coast games.

People forget though a 6 day break travelling after a toughly fought win where we lost three players was going to impact us travelling to our worst ground.

In the Voss era Carlton has finished 4th, 2nd and 2nd for first possession differential. This year they are streets ahead of the competition with a differential of +9.1 per game. If that holds it’ll be the biggest differential in the last half decade.

But what’s even more interesting is that they’ve gotten less effective at getting the ball to the outside of the contest successfully.
