It's one of the reasons I think it is a bit of a curse for Carlton to have both Curnow and McKay together in there prime. The way the game is played makes having 2 number 1 forwards surplus to needs based on cost.
Ideally you would prefer a Mihocek type that comes a lot cheaper as 2nd fiddle or a much younger up and comer like Neale that's not quite ready to command the number 1 spot with a wage to reflect that.

I think he's had injuries from early, in recent years his commitment in-game has been questionable to put it nicely. he has nicked a good wage, his old man getting one back some 30 plus years later.
It's bullshit, for a club that isn't awash with cash.
Fair few excuses in that North team due to things such as experience & size (Dawson, Maley), straight up lack of ability but just filling a role (Teakle, Pink), there for senior experience on field (Darling), or playing almost a lone hand and can’t cope doing it alone (Parker, Sheezel).
Logue has none of them.
He is straight up the worst conditioned footballer in the competition.
No idea what he’s doing off field but he came to North on really good coin to play a vital key back role, and he’s been left in the dust by can’t kick Comben, beanpole Will Dawson, stopgap Pink & to be honest, mid season VFL tier player Kal Dawson.
To be fair, that’s not quite the same concern we once had. Enough revenue sources + the AFL is still pouring money into heaps of clubs, we aren’t exactly the only one who get
and as much as I think Clarko is washed, we need to see him as a Paul Roos type. To bring in a coach of experience would cost the same, Simpson & Horse aren’t taking the heat without a big cost, and a rookie coach would be burnt out faster than you can say Rhyce Shaw.
Paying big bucks for Clarko to cop the Heat is not one of the “big problem” strategies I have right now with the club.

Likely will end up a very good player but right now wage vs output would be quite one sided for Mac Andrew.

He is a good serviceable player on the Aleer Aleer level at this point.

Biggest wage theft in the AFL has to be the North Melbourne recruitment team.
Is anyone able to explain why they would give up pick 2 for Matt Whitlock?
All the phantom drafts had him at pick 20-30.
In any case they could used have pick 19 on Jobe Shanahan and kept their pick 2 for this year in tact.

I blame the AFL for signing off on the trade, terribly one-sided.
Having said that, how Rawlings and co are still in those roles is a mystery.
