Pou- if we are not going to help our young players get into the game then what’s the point. Get him up around the ball instead of being stuck in the pocket. Or if he’s not ready leave him in the VFL.

Wilson, poor guy still second guessing himself. Needs more time around the ball and just back to chasing and running.

We have no real equivalent but players like Sinclair, pendelbury etc make it look easy and then with Membrey, jones etc who simply can’t see or process what their seeing.

If what Sincs said in the interview at the end is anything to go by, they went AGAINST instructions for most of the game. Didn’t start playing the way they had been told to pre-game until the last quarter.

Also need to take into account the way Richmond were playing. Pushing two from their forward line up to stoppages, and their team as a whole pushing back into defence extremely quickly to outnumber us there.

So most of the time when we looked ahead, Richmond had the numbers. Hence trying to chip our way through them all.

Final entries were obviously pus though, and it’s remarkable how many of them fell right in between our two closest marking targets, to where one of Richmond’s loose guys could get in between an intercept.

It’s all well and good to say “get all these young guys around the ball”, but we already have a 20yo in Garcia on the ball, a not much older Nas in there with him, we’re trying to get Hall in there more, want to have the 22yo Windy in there, and we have a 19yo Boxshall on the wing. And Macrae’s game time has gone from high 80’s early in the year to mid-60’s of late.

Putting 8 kids on or around the ball just isn’t an option

Pou needs a month in the VFL. And then a full preseason.
