Yeah, I get that. He’s still got ‘star’ written on his name, so if he’s picked this week, he won’t be dropped next week. But I still expect - well, I don’t expect massive impact. So here is a question- once picked, do you play him as a mid? And hope he gets 15 touches ? For 65% TOG? Like Hunter? Or put him on a flank?
I'd put him on a flank just to get him around the ball without compromising everyone else in the midfield.

Just saw the worst umpiring decision in the history of the game in the vfl.
Hastie took a courageous mark, then was penalised for apparently shoving the opposition out of the way.
Wtf.
Hastie & Dodson tearing it up actually.
IIRC the free was paid against Armstrong for push in the back

It’ll be exactly the same as when King was last playing and we were just bombing it on his head and getting intercepted.
Disagree.
Won’t be quite so easy to intercept with him there.
I think you may have forgotten his leap and reach.
We also have players like NAS and Hall who can actually deliver a ball inside 50 these days.
Also, Sharman is no slouch at taking a mark and he won’t have the best defenders on him anymore.
Just got to pray Max is over his injuries.
He’ll make a big difference. I’ll guarantee it.

Was at the game today with a great view of the bench from level 2. At the start of 3 quarter time, RTB and Nas had a lengthy conversation. Nas initiated to conversation and was very animated in a positive manner.

After the huddle broke, RTB and Nas again had a one on one conversation. Now I'm no body expert language expert, but it would take something extraordinary for someone to still be so clearly invested in a club when they will potentially be requesting a trade shortly.

Also, thought Steele was very good in some vital contests, I can be as critical as anyone about him at times, but have to say congrats on the 200 games to our skipper.

Go saints

Losing faith in Ross.
People laugh at me for raising what are obvious concerns about Ross, without realising I am good mates with 2 blokes that played under him, 1 of which was a star.

Would absolutely back their opinion in all day long.

Ross is not this well loved messiah the cultists on here would have u believe. It's Ross's way or the highway.

Not interested in 2 way conversations, stubborn AF and absolutely not the sort of dude that knows how to relate to this generation..

Come at me, don't care. This list is far better than what stubborn old dinasaur Ross is getting out of them....

Going nowhere under Lyon. Its a waste of time.

The real problem with this side at the moment is just lack of height.

Tallest players playing today:

Heath 204cm (unable to have much impact then subbed off)
Marshall 200cm (solid game)
Caminiti 196cm (decent defensive game again)
Sharman 194cm (tough day for a 2nd/3rd tall forward asked to play on his own down there)
Tauru 193cm (solid 8th game, continues to show great signs)
Wood 192cm (never quite plays his height but would have been a matchwinner if he'd just kicked a couple of his shots)
Wilkie 191cm (champion)
Phillipou 190cm (playing in the wrong role and underdone)

Compare that to Richmond:

Nankervis 199cm
Lynch 199cm
Miller 198cm
Young 196cm
Armstrong 195cm
Balta 194cm
Brown 193cm
Broad 192cm
McIntosh 191cm

More of them, more experienced and bigger bodied generally.

So we went -4 on contested marks, which is very close to our average for the year of -3.7 contested marks per game (ranked dead last in the comp).

Add back Max King, TDK, Howard/Aleer next year and I reckon the side gets beaten in the air a lot less.
True, but how dumb do you have to be to play excruciatingly slow down the line football if you are undersized.

It's staggering to me people don't realise how atrocious our game plan is. Every single neutral supporter can see it, but we refuse to open our eyes.

that may be true, but you think this list is underperforming? 😂 we've replaced our core senior players and are now playing all the kids, I think you're overestimating a little

Maybe the theory is that we won’t always be undersized so why change the whole gameplan for a temporary situation, no idea really though.

But we had NAZ and we won the three in a row.
Are people really unhappy about winning three in a row?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can't be serious with this take unless you can honestly put your hand up and say you didn't praise us for "honorable losses," against Hawks, Pies etc.

We can't pat the team on the back for just winning against a hopeless outfit, then also pat them on the head for "honorable losses."

It's one or the other.

Personallly, don't see how any supporter could be happy with that atrocity.

he said in the presser we wanted to switch and go, but had no run post switch so hit a wall, it was a coaching failure for sure, but it wasn't by design

Massively underperforming.

The team has 3 players in the top 20 in the AFL, with plenty of experience and talent around it.

Wake up!!

We need a new forwards coach. Someone who can teach forwards to lead regardless of how many opposition backs are there. There's always a space, especially if 3/4 players are all leading in different directions.

That’s the connection piece though. They know it’s just going to be bombed in so what’s the point of leading - actually takes you away from the contest. You notice when Nas has it outside 50 they lead more, but they don’t trust most of the others to lower their eyes.

If you are miserable and always looming for the negative of course you won't be happy with winning three in a row.
Unbelievable 🤣🤣

By doing it right you mean by proving my point? Has been a shit year and you lot can't even take a little joy in 3 wins on the trott.
