The most overrated player in modern Collingwood history.

His defensive efforts are child-like, his kicking is crap, has no idea how to weight his kicks.. half the time they land a metre short... he doesn't get ANY hard ball... just a weak outside mid with no hurt factor and no defensive efforts.

Pack him up at the end of the year and pray someone is stupid enough to give us a late 1st round pick for him.

As mentioned before, he is in our top four players.
As mentioned before he is in he league top 50 players.
But of course other players are overlooked because Sidey is noticeable.
Why is he noticeable?
Because unlike the majority of our list he gets to the contest, he runs both ways and he actually gives a damn.

That second quarter. Omg. He ****rd up 5 times in row its was benny hill level. Actually he set the tone for the test of game after that point. Sometimes its like he ****s up on purpose like hitting the goal posts or kicking shit points when its a easy goal. I mentioned my thoughts last week in the gameday thread, he's basically Brent Stanton with better goal sense. He is certainly overrated to a certain extent, particularly comments around his kicking, he is not elite but certainly above average.

He's more of a complementary type player, someone who would be perfect in a team contending for a flag, not one contending for the spoon.

He does some very nice things at times, but too often lets himself down with short passes that carry just short, leaving an awkward half volley for a teammate, he also often gives it to players right under the pump.

I believe he inflates his disposal efficiency with a lot of cheap possessions that don't achieve much.

Certainly not an untouchable and I don't think he's ruined his trade value, unless we decided to play him in the 2's all year, which won't happen.

If I am Bucks I will put sidebottom Full Forward all day long. He has goal sense and may win some contest inside 50. More importantly we will not see any more terrible short kick direct to opponent, aimless handball and lack of defensive effort.

Personally I don't like Sidey as a pure mid. He's too soft and his passing is shit but he does have a spot in the team. He needs to be used around goals like malthouse played him. His ability to snap a shot or get in to dangerous positions is what he's best at.

Been saying that for years. Could be our best crumber, but try telling that to our almighty coach who believes Greenwood is a better bet at half forward when he should be tagging Murphy.

He is a half forward rotating mid.

Now he is just a permanent midfield/winger who finds himself in the defensive half a lot.

He is class around the sticks.
He can find space and his dual sidedness makes him very dangerous around goals inside 50.
