That stupid handball on the wing which lead to Howe getting injured pissed me off.
Sometimes he tries to be too smart.

Always trying to create, sometimes it won’t come off but as far as I’m concerned he has a lisence to do so as he gets the ball moving with purpose.

The way he cooked that handball to Crispy in the first... cocking the wrist and waiting before releasing him. Just absolutely elite. That's one of the best games I've ever seen from a Pie, and he did it in a prelim.

A brilliant footballer, who just runs all day, covers so much ground, and is a beautiful user of the ball either side of the body. I love watching him play live, because he just amazes me with his endurance. I think he will poll very well on Monday night.
I can also see him and Grundy sharing the Copeland this year. They are going to be hard to split.

You can see why Dekka had a penchant for drafting players who had proven they could perform on the big stage. Steele kicked 10 goals in the TAC Cup GF. 10 years later and he is still dominating big finals matches!

A nice memory I have of Steele is from 2009, it was a Saturday afternoon & we'd destroyed Carlton the night before (54 points ). Life was pretty bloody good, as it always is when we beat those pricks. I was out with my girlfriend at the time and decided to pop into a pub in Williamstown to have a cheeky pot or two.

I walk into the sports bar and Steele, Beamsy & a couple of other players were there, having a quiet beer, playing pool and having a bit of a punt. I left them alone & sat across the other side of the bar and watched whatever footy match was on TV in the pub.

When I was at the bar ordering another beer, 18 yo Steele walks over to me and says hello. I was immediately blown away and had no idea whatsoever why he would say hello to me, but then realised I was wearing my 2009 members' hat, which was slightly embarrassing haha.

We had the briefest of chats, but what I do remember is him asking me "did you like last night?" with a huge grin on his face.

I could tell at the time that he genuinely loved his footy and has developed over time from a young knockabout kid to a real leader within the club. He was able to kick 2 goals, (including 'that' goal) & have 27 in a win against Essendon in his 200th - awesome stuff. Looking forward to the next 150 games.

I remember that game! Davis kicked 2 insane goals and Carlton only scored 4 goals for the match I think

that one play where he got possession from the center bounce, burst past a couple of tigers and kicked a raking 50 meter cruise missile perfectly into Degoey's lead in a crowded forward line - stunning, like the best of Barry Price or Buckley himself.
Can't believe it wasn't in the AFL highlights reel, prob coz Degoey missed the shot.
