Due to a number of factors, support for the current BigFooty mobile app has been discontinued. Your BigFooty login will no longer work on the Tapatalk or the BigFooty App - which is based on Tapatalk.

A counter perspectiveI'm sure there will be club support, but you also can't ignore the actions. Could you imagine how Bucks would feel. He just lost his best rebounding defender for the season, then 24 hours later, one of his best players and most senior players, is found wondering the streets Sunday morning, after an all nighter on the p1ss.
I'm tipping the club is not going to take this lightly.
And put the whole AFL season at risk.
My initial reaction is to be sympathetic but not after thinking about it a bit more........how many times do these guys need to be told something? He saw what happened to players at Melbourne and Essendon etc.......and still went ahead and had multiple breaches (Uber and hanging out with Wellsy)
He could've gone and seen Howe , been a good mate and driven himself but decided to "get on the beers" (as Dan The Man would say) in the lead up to a game. Putting everyone's season at risk was worth it to have a few beers during the week of a very fragile AFL season.
I think he should cop 1-2 weeks and should be sanctioned from within Collingwood.
A counter perspective
One of our VCs (Sidey) heads to our devastated VC (Howe) place to show support if he was battling.
Dunn, another leader and mate of Howe also pops in to show support.
That is a positive thing that players have such close bonds, what clubs try to build.
Have a couple of beers too many, so do the smart thing and get an Uber instead of attempting to drive.
Bucks would normally be rapt with that kind of unity and support for a teammate.
But due to COVID going to support a mate, and not drink driving is seen as the wrong thing to do!
Tis the strange times we live in, resultantly there is no doubt Steele will be made an example of.

Feel free to come to any conclusion you want. And yes they could have done things differently.Players know they're allowed to visit each other for under 2 hours, they could've seen Howe for 2 hours then gone home and no issue.
Instead they got pissed and stayed out till 7am then went and visited Daniel Wells??
Yea... real positive !
Feel free to come to any conclusion you want. And yes they could have done things differently.
The report is he was noticed trying to get home, so he had obviously slept at Wells place. Somehow you have interpreted that as staying out until 7am!?
And yeah who knows what state Jezza was in, be a dick move to clock watch and set an alarm just to meet some arbitrary 2 hr rule, if you are going to offer support to a mate.
First and foremost Bucks is trying to build a positive supportive culture within the playing group, without that you are dead in the water.
So yes Steele will cop a whack for not complying with covid rules, and as a senior leader should know better...but going and having some beers with a teammate who is battling with realisation that his season is probably over isn’t a drama for mine.
He wasn’t off to a party, or heading to a bar, drink driving etc.
He stayed with a mate for too long, and jumped in a ride share to another mates, a Collingwood employees, house instead of drink driving...
So yeah in Covid world, it is front page news...normal world, who cares
There’s probably a greater chance of getting sick at supermarket. Has the AFL stopped the players from going grocery shopping?
On iPad using BigFooty.com mobile app
And yet the majority of transmission is happening at family gatherings.............because people are hanging out in close proximity for 2 hrs+ , which is the main risk factor outside of being inside someone's personal space for 15mins+.
Unless you're being piggybacked around the supermarket , it is a much safer place than spending the night at a mate's place and getting around in Ubers.
And of course the footy players are being held to a higher standard because one mistake from one of us doesn't necessarily impact a whole industry.
I hope I'm wrong, but... it's Collingwood, he'll get the maximum.History suggests 1-2 weeks given the penalties handed out thus far. Might get a discount because we've moved to a less restrictive (well other than certain postcodes) regime.
What's the purpose of the 2 hour rule?Players know they're allowed to visit each other for under 2 hours, they could've seen Howe for 2 hours then gone home and no issue.

This is the leadership of our club btw.
Their only allowed 2 hours of Xbox time per day. What's the purpose of the 2 hour rule?
What's the purpose of the 2 hour rule?
I wonder why this isn’t mentioned in the government guidelines.Risk of transmission goes up the longer you're in close contact with people
2 hours sounds a bit arbitrary and tokenistic to me. What's the story with partners, assumedly they'd not have to follow AFL protocols?Risk of transmission goes up the longer you're in close contact with people
I wonder why this isn’t mentioned in the government guidelines.
That’s a federal paper. Is it mentioned in the Victorian Government restrictions. For example, currently people are permitted to gather in groups of 10. Is a time limit also mentioned?
"I’d just say to the AFL - they need to crack down on this. This is bigger than football. This is a national health emergency, and the AFL needs to do their bit.
Football players are not immune. They’re not exempt. They shouldn’t think that they’re above the law. And we need to make sure that the AFL and the clubs understand that.
Our border, our arrangements for a hub when the teams come here will be very strict, and if anyone breaches it, obviously, my view would be that they’d be punting from Western Australia as soon as they do."
It is tokenistic without a doubt.Apparently if you stay at a team mate’s house for 1 hour 59 minutes it’s all okay, but if you stay two minutes longer you’re at a greater risk of catching the virus.Totally arbitrary.2 hours sounds a bit arbitrary and tokenistic to me. What's the story with partners, assumedly they'd not have to follow AFL protocols?
Trade draft your a hard marker. Can't see him staying in the Leadership Group after this
