Our history is riddled with hard luck stories. Injuries a big one over the past 10 years. Even if we didn't lose a game for an entire season and made the granny we'd still find a way to lose it.
 
I understand Sidebottom's decision not to travel for finals given he can no longer get out of quarantine until a semi (if we qualify) https://www.afl.com.au/news/508361/...t-north-called-off-doubt-on-sore-pie-s-future

but SURELY a professional organisation would have been across those issues and a decision on Sidebottom's travel (or non travel) been made and released 3 or more days ago when he could have travelled in time for our elimination final!

It's not the governments fault. They have the rules in place for a reason. Sidebottom chose to go back home and that is fine. But ultimately him not playing falls on him not on anyone else.

So very selfish of Steele and not having the chance to play in our 2020 PREMIERSHIP year,running that gold cup around the Gabba.
The AFL is against Collingwood,as I think Carman and co and fake suspensions!
The Qld government is against us may she lose the election.
We have a power team once again primed ready,to win but always denied.
Our football this year has proven that.
 
This will be an unpopular opinion given everyone is running with the ‘family first’ mantra, but I’m disappointed that they haven’t found a way to make this work for both the team and the family. Making a decision today was always going to be too late.

In contrast, one of the Doggies players and partner have opted to have their child up in QLD.

Not annoyed at Steele and partner by any means, just at the situation.

We saw this coming from months away, yet still were investigating ways to get him up too late to play anyways.

A little deflating really, but good luck to them.
 
Anyways, West Coast managed to win without Gaff and Nic Nat, so if we’re good enough we’ll do the same without Howe and Sidebottom.
 
Disappointing news.He obviously left his decision too late to come back and would have missed the first final anyway.What happened to the idea of him going into quarantine in the Northern Territory?That seemed like one way of getting around the quarantine rules in Qld.
 
I don’t buy it’s all too hard. Sidebottom made the decision to comeback. And because he couldn’t get the comforts he required he decided to sat home. He has a new born baby that sleeps and eats that is all. So being being in a hotel room for 2 weeks wouldn’t be a big deal.

I wouldn’t have an issue if he decided to stay home from the get go. But he made the decision to come back. This is crap by Sidebottom.

And don’t give me this family first crap. He made the decision to comeback & I would of had no issue if he didn’t comeback but once he decided to comeback he had to do what it takes.

I would strip the vice captain off him. His had a disaster of year off the field

He’s had the best off field year of his life.

You would have thought hed feel like he owed the club after derailing our season in the first place.

A firm decision should been made by about Tuesday, with a view to flying Thursday at the latest. Making announcements that were far too late and then reversing six hours later (because the penny dropped that it was far too late) is embarrasingly incompetent from club and player.

Stuff him.
