The quick game has always suited him. Covers the ground faster than most and never stops running.
Reads the play well. Not the best tackler in the world and to short to take contested marks.
Has been, and will continue to be, heart and soul of the club.
Take that you haters! He's sticking it so far up your proverbial that I can see his shiny bald head coming out your mouths!

Can't believe Steele is approaching his 300th game already. Back in 2008 I desperately wanted us to get him, after he kicked ten goals in the TAC Cup Grand Final, but I thought there was no way he'd slip through to pick 11. I was absolutely delighted when he did and I called SEN to express how happy I was about it. Doesn't seem that long ago, but now here he is, 32 years of age and closing in on his 300th. Congratulations Steele on the milestone and on a stellar career with the Collingwood Football Club. I hope you and Pendles can can cap off your brilliant careers with a flag this year. Thanks for your tremendous service.

The stats guy from champion data was on sen earlier in the week with his player ratings with respect to position, he had nick at 4, no surprises, Sidey came in at 9. He’s having a great season thus far.

He's tackling and getting the contested footy in a way that he hasn't for years now. Besides getting smothered too frequently for how talented he is, his season has been excellent. His defensive work was significantly worse last season

Game 299 this week and 300 next,he has resurrected his career after it looked very shaky in 20 and 21 seasons baby Matilda seems to have done wonders for him. They may be a season or 2 left in him it would be good if he catches up to Tony Shaw I don,t think he gets past Pendles but 300 is quite a feat and well deserved after some nightmares in recent seasons.

People made out JDG's absence on King's Birthday as most hurtful, but for me it was Sidebottom whose absence cost us the result. He is instrumental to our ball movement on the outside, and his defensive work often goes unnoticed. He is still a top five most important player to us structurally in my opinion.
