He was. Certainly wasn't last year. Efforts that Fasolo has dished up on a few occasions going a whole game without laying a tackle was a good opportunity to set an example and drop him. Sidebottom as a leader trying dinky kicks too often, it just kills you!

Oh good so it's not just me thats annoyed with fasolo..

Needs to be played forward or back, or needs to be traded.

Id say hes our 5th best midfielder behind Pendles, Treloar, Adams and Wells.

Prefer he was traded, Beams was always the better player in that draft year.

Trade him if he gets us a more important player.

Well, there are some circumstances not widely known.
But yes, it's the coaches fault.

P.S. Love how one bad game gets you traded at the Pies.
It's a wonder Pendlebury is still here.
Pendlebury correctly executes the clever things that Steele attempts to do, he also knows when to do it.

He would put the ball through the goals and into the stands, when streaming straight into goal from 30 metres out, rather than a speculative 15 metre chip to a one on one contest.

I'd trade him at year end. He is the sort that is great when the side is going well but not one to roll the sleeves up and dig in when required. Should get a top 10 pick, so that would make two.

I think the reviews on him are a bit harsh. His kicking doesn't have the penetration that you would like but I think he should just play that front and centre play up forward.

He's been pretty consistent every year

Consistently average - consistent doesn't mean you're a good player. I reckon Cloke's goal kicking was consistent. He consistently missed most of the time.

He is the most overrated player on our list, and that's saying something given almost all of our players are overrated.

Overrated in his disposal efficiency, overrated in his "2-way running". Never gets near his man and gets carved up week after week. Go to a game and watch closely, he just runs up and down the wing on his own most of the day like he has an airborne terminal disease.

Reactions here way over the top. Sidey is a solid B+ mid who has a great history in finals. He is one of our better players overall.

If someone gave us a crazy trade sure take it but thats unlikely. There is no way you are getting a top 10 draft pick for a 26 yo in his 9th season who has had a solid career. He also comes with a solid contract out to 2021 which makes any trade more difficult

Baby, bathwater.

The baby has been thrown out, we are shit and in serious rebuild mode now. We need picks, who else do you suggest and dont give me Blair or some other mupett. We need to cut.

If you trade Sidey I would suggest you probably get a mid 20s pick and would need to pay some of his contract out to 2021. Have to get him to agree to go. I believe he is a popular team member and hard working. Dumping players like him can cause problems and I dont see the upside for what i reckon will be a middling draft pick.

I agree we are looking to a rebuild but dont see any obvious players to trade for good picks. Assume Pendles, Moore, Grundy are not on the table. I wouldnt do it but Elliott is probably the one who may attract a good pick.

I think we just need to go to the draft for a few seasons and do a methodical rebuild. No quick solutions.

Elliot will get nothing at this point due to his back, whsiper is he pulled up sore after the game and may not play this week. Sidebottom for a side in flag contention (in their minds) would fetch a very good pick. Listen to the commentators rave about him, they think he is 'elite'. A side like West Coast would give their left nut as they lack run and carry.

Probably right on Elliott. Further proves the point for mine. Sidey is in the back half of his career so you would want a pretty high end player to give up a top 10 choice. Don't think Sidey is that. He is solid B grade and as such a second round pick would get him and I dont think that leaves us better off.

If Howe continues his current season he is another who you might get interest in but not to a top 10 pick. I just don't think we have enough quality senior players who would attract real interest.

I heard there was some AFL club that recently signed a 27 year old to a 4 year deal and he is now battling in their reserves. Maybe we should see if those dumb shits will take any of our crap players (Sidey isn't one). Sounds like they will buy anything.

OK, we are both on the same page really, I don't rate Sidey that highly but am hoping someone else takes a leaf from the commentators man love and over pays.

Sidebottom is a gun, but I reckon he thrives in a good side. He is really clever and a hard runner. You don't want him though doing the grunt work. He is best when allowed to roam free and we are moving offensively really well. I don't think his form has been terrific this year though.

No need to trade Sidey.
Make him a forward, who occasionally has a run through the middle.
We are crying out for a smart small forward who can find the ball and kick a goal.
Sidey is the man for the job.
No one can doubt he is clever around goals and we know he is very capable on both sides of his body.
We are overflowing with mids so having him sit predominately in the forward line is not going to hurt our midfield at all.

Good player and a good coach will get the best out him. Can we trade our coach instead of our players for once?
