I don't know, I can throw up some excuses which I don't necessarily believe in but I have heard:
  1. Sidebottom is vice-captain
  2. Sidebottom is experienced
  3. Maynard, Moore and Aish etc are inexperienced youngsters
  4. Scharenberg etc are injured
  5. the rest are shit.

If someone gave us a crazy trade sure take it but thats unlikely. There is no way you are getting a top 10 draft pick for a 26 yo in his 9th season who has had a solid career. He also comes with a solid contract out to 2021 which makes any trade more difficult

Yep, decision made. We aren't playing finals for 5 years so better use to give him up to a side that will be and that can't hurt us. Jk

A really good B + player.
And terrific in the bigger games.
His stand out attribute (which people seem to forget) is elite running.

Up and down, up and down, gets to the contest, gets to the ball.
And people want to move him on? That's perplexing to say the least.

Also I think it's surprising that anyone would suggest if we wanted to move him on at this stage they'd hand over a top 10 pick? Just won't happen.

We have him, he has seniority, runs and runs, can kick a goal (that's a bit forgotten)
His value is there for us.

Far better to move on the average talent.

(Ps somebody gives a top draft pick, then sure let's look at it. BUT it's not going to happen)

If you really think he has been our second best player then you're delusional.

He's been consistently average, even poor at times.

Forget stats and Supercoach points, because they are junk, but here are a few names that I believe have been better and had more impact on games, not just cheap touches.

Treloar
Pendles
Grundy
Adams
Varcoe
Howe
Reid
Dunn (for the games he has played)

The fact there aren't more names ahead of him is testament to where we are on the ladder...3rd last (probably 2nd last by the end of the round).

For some reason Sidebottom seems to get a free pass by most supporters and media - he is horribly overrated.

Sidebottom is the epitomy of our team - most others have simply gone past him/us and live off past glory.

Though if you actually watch the games you may see he is the king of the turnovers.
Treloar? Been dissapointing really, and hasn't played all games.
Pendles? Are you reading the posts? He is voted ahead of Sidebottom as you would see if you looked at the votes, so not sure why you have included him.
Adams, Varcoe, Howe. Flashes. In and out of the play. Pop up, go missing, time and time again. Howe the best of those three, simply because he doesn't need to hunt his own ball, the ball finds him due to our leaking forward defence.

You're having a laugh naming the rest.
