Just had a look and he is only 21 and has played 104 games. This seems like an unusual amount of games for someone so young? At this rate he will get to 300 before he is 30 lol

Steele has played a huge number of games for his age. Doesn't get injured, and for mine is a player that epitomises the term "big game player". Love for Ironside.

He keeps developing his game to the point where he can play in various positions now and you can be quite confident that he'll do what's asked of him.

He looked great off half back against the Bombers, but seemed to play forward more against the Swans, must be a bitch of a player to coach against not knowing where he's going to play.

Steele has always suffered from the "Clark Keating syndrome" too where he has been great in finals, but less than consistent in the home and away season.

This has been his best home and away season in terms of consistency IMO.

I love Steele. Fantastic player and really underrated. Like someone already said, he will most likely, if he keeps up this rate, get to 300 games before he is 30. Ever since he first debuted I have always liked him.

He's had some absolute horrible games this year. In most of the games where we got done in for not running both ways, he was one of the main culprits. Of course people have short memories and he's been solid for a few games so that gets forgotten. I wouldn't say he's had a particularly good season. Overall, he's been ok.

Coped a lot of unfair criticism this year from people on this board. Love him. He should also have a Norm Smith medal to his name.

One of my absolute favourite players.

I was disappointed with several of his games this year. Just dropped off or failed to go both ways and was duly criticised for it.

That said, I was disappointed because of how highly I rate him. He's a pure footballer with a big tank, rather than an "athlete" who plays football. It frustrates me too when they talk about our elite midfield of "Swan, Pendlebury, Beams and Ball" because it should also include "Sidebottom". Part of that is the versatility that sees him move forward and back, but it's partly his fault for some inconsistency.

I'm stoked to see him play the way he has recently and it augers well for the finals where we know he thrives. Could really hurt our opposition in September.

He's not in the class of Swan/Pendlebury/Beams but he is knocking on the door at his best.

I think his 2012 was better than his 2013 has been, but the last couple of weeks have been great.

Yep still inconsistent but improving. Last 2 games have been fantastic but I thought he had an ordinary game against the GWS, got a lot of soft outside possessions but didn't win a contest all game.

Main strengths are his elite running ability and his footy brain. He creates a lot of uncontested footy but his disposal can let him down. He can see opportunities where mere mortals can't. And he just keeps smiling through thick and thin.

Probably among the 10 best players at the club and looks even better with Ball & Beams back and firing.

He's not as good a pure mid as Beams, Swan, Pendles or Ball that's why. In saying that though. I couldn't see any of those four playing the sweeping HB role any where near as good as he did against the Bombers. He's also a great HFF much like Beams.
