Melbourne trading out Martin and getting Pederson doesn't make a whole lot of sense on paper. Two mature aged players who sort of ruck, sort of player forward and sort of play back when required...but can't break into middle of the range to bottom of the ladder clubs.

But fwiw, I think both will have good 2013's and I also think it was in both players best interests to get fresh starts while they are still young enough.
