Ziebell, Hill and Hartlett will be considered better prospects than Rich by round 15. Two of them should be now on AFL showing + potential, but the hype around the short armed one-sided one is just weird ATM. Even getting praised for his direct turnovers.

He is improving .He should get the Rising Star award this week .

He and Haselby didnt have a tag nor were they pressured much by the opposition which is bad coaching on the Eagles side.
They were left to roam free.

i didn't - watching Freo is like seeing your parents naked

Why do you guys bother?

Seriously no wonder pies supporters are considered the worst in the comp. Some of you are arrogant turkeys and I enjoy watching your games coz I always support the opposition.

If you have nothing to contribute then get back in your hole. This is the AFL main board. But I forget that your self inflated ego comes from a premiership 18 years ago.

Great game...he still has enormous upside. The reports pre season suggested he didn't get a lot of the ball but has shown he can get the possessions.

Tim Gossage is a shithouse commentator...why does anyone take any notice of what he says? Football knowledge is pathetic and has a terrible voice.

21 possessions
14 contested (the most of all players on the ground)
7 inside 50s (equal most of all players)
2 goals (equal most of all players)
Contributed more score than any other player.

Brilliant game.

great game from hill. my mates and i at the game thought he was BOG  those stats agree.
he never got the tag though, allowed to run free as a bird, and we couldnt understand why given the damage he was doing

If the vast majority of his possesions were contested how was he running free?
Seem to me he got a lot of possesions coming out of packs plus he also laid 5 tackles.

He had a good game but the Eagles gave him no respect. Still, it was an encouraging display. He's better than any Eagles youngsters who has played this year, including that hack Masten.
Masten set up 3 goals today, kicked one of his own including 2 posters, laid 4 tackles (2 of which got holding the ball decisions, including the much heralded hill) and picked up 16 touches. Sorry what?

Hill played a very good game today. Don't get ahead of yourselves; he was playing on priddis, who isn't exactly the quickest bloke around, and who was in the stoppages all game. Come back and tell me he is a supersar in the making when he can handle someone playing defensively on him, and he can move that smoothly with more kgs on his body. Come back when he is doing this more than once every 6 weeks.

You sound bitter.

My commiserations

In the Sydney game he flashed in and out but he definitely was a momentum swinger in that game.

Freo has had possession winning guys who aren't super damaging by the bucket load but Hill can have 5 possessions in in a quarter and change the game.

He's played 6 games, quite a few of them were ordinary, don't get ahead of yourself.

Wow, some of you are dead set idiots.

What do you expect from a 17/18 yr old who is 69kg and built like a rake? He isn't going to come in and play well every game.

Kids are drafted on how much POTENTIAL they have to have an impact on AFL games. Right now, he doesn't have the strength, size or experience to be consistantly good. But what he has shown is that once he fully develops, he will have the ability to tear opposition teams to threads.

Did you even read what I was replying to?

Next time read the post properly before you start having attacks at people.

Absolute Gun is Hill..

Been following him closely, he has single handedly kept Freo
in games a few times this yr, yesterdays game was no suprise.

If anything, Hill needs more confidence - which he is gaining, he
had a few bounces yesterday, a few weeks ago - he wouldnt of
done that, but he is gaining confidence and should only get better
as the yr goes on..

Ive always thought Hill and Watts were standouts in the last draft.

I am commenting on observation at the game. If you go by the stats, ok a third of his possessions were uncontested. He was given way too much freedom to get those uncontested ones, and the contested ones I would put a few down to not enough respect shown by his opponent.

Both times it was 2 on 1.

You want to rethink your position?

Here's an observation I had. "Superstar" Kerr cannot get a kick when he gets attention from an opponent, and often his opponent will be quite damaging going the other way.

And personally, I would put his contested possessions down to:

a) speed in getting to the ball
b) ability to find the football
c) lateral movement in tight situations, making him hard to tackle and being able to free his hands to dish out a handball; and
d) freakish acceleration and pace allowing him to breakaway from a contest and dispose the football

You could also probably add his deft taps in contests to the list when rather collecting the ball and waiting to get tackled, he taps the football to advantage and then uses his speed and turning ability to burn off his opponent and collect the football.

He was versing Priddis when he got most of his possesions.

Priddis has b) and none of the others.

Put someone on him who can match his pace, and he'll be negated to a large effect.

Oh and btw, Kerr vomiting and cramping might hamper his ability a bit. That and being ferociously tagged for 100% of his game. Not just "attention from an opponent".
