Probably had something to do with the fact that he is 4'2" and was nothing special at AFL level.

great recruiting on our behalf again to take kenna in the national draft and overlook davey. brilliant stuff blues:thumbsu:

that's crap blues4flag. both played in the vfl in the same year and davey by far showed the most promise. the fact that we went for kenna in front of davey makes it even worse. at least the other clubs didn't pick vfl players.

With regard to where we are right this minute - this is a pretty crazy post.

Pretty simple really, he wasn't good enough to make it at AFL level.

Yeah, but everyone else had a choice at him aswell - and no one chose him. We're no wronger than anyone else who didn't pick him up, and I'm sure just about everyone else chose a dud ahead of Davey.

The only difference was we passed on him and other young talent 5 times in total in that draft. Mott, Bannister, Deluca, Kenna and Bowyer

Great legacy that Shane O Sullivan left.
 
Kenna goes alright in the SANFL, has a bit of Milne about him in way he goes about things but couldn't see him having a major impact at AFL. More of a backup filler player who could do his bit but not be worth a spot week in week out hence he was delisted. Maybe if he was 180cm instead of 170cm he could be a little better.

no other teams picked dudd vfl players. at least the other clubs punted on young kids from the TAC.

I'm not denying that we stuffed up horribly with our trades - but Carlton was not the only team that passed up on Davey. That's all. I agree that our former recruiting staff was crap.
 
in the same team in the sanfl i'd rather daveys brother....or cousin, i think its his brother. Has good speed. worth a shot maybe with a low pick but i love eddie so maybe not

not 100% but would be 20 or under i would say. will be in draft his year. someone will pick him up for sure. even if its just a late pick
