I wandered over to sainsational.com and was shocked that Stephen Powell was coming 16th in the MVP Award. Surely he would be Top 5 as he is getting 20 disposals week in, week out and also going forward and kicking goals.

I believe he is having a better season than Woewodin. Do you guys feel the same way? I was devastated that we lost him, and I thought he was having a superb season first up for the Saints.

You're absolutely right Lamby29, Powell has been a gun for us this season - can understand your frustration at losing him.

I have been doing my own B&F this year in the same manner as the St K F C ie 10,9,8,7...2,1. and currently have Powell running fourth in our B&F.

See St Kilda B&F votes

He is a tough in and under sort who has been very productive for us....so good that he has supplanted Andrew Thompson who played this role last year.

His kicking leaves a little to be desired, but his spirit and determination carry him through.

One of this years greatest pluses (including Penny, Ball, Goddard and Maguire)

Powell has been fantastic for us this year. He has provided a lot of grunt in the midfield. Occasionally he lets himself down with his disposal, but he works so hard and racks up heaps of possesions. I think there is still a small question mark over his fitness. He seems to have a huge impact around the clearances at the start of games, but as the match wears on his influence can be lessened slightly. He has also been valuable in pushing forward and kicking a few goals for us. I can understand why you are dissapointed to have lost him. A lot of players seem to have difficulties adjusting in their first year at a new club, but Powell has fitted in really well and has become part of our best midfield trio along with Harvey and Hayes.

Been a huge positive for us this season. He's added much needed toughness through the midfield and kicked some important goals.

Like StKildonan and Vergs have said his disposal is at times questionable and he does struggle to run out some games due to the amount of running he does but he's been a great acquisition for us.

The question mark hanging over his head was always going to be whether he could remain injury free and since joining the club has remained so. Along with Harvey and Hayes we've got a good core group of midfielders with the likes of Ball, Goddard, Montagna, Dal Santo all expected to hold more responsibility in the next few years.

I try not to spend too much time watching Collingwood so I don't really know how Woewodin has gone this season. Can't say I really as long as Powell continues to play an important role for us/

powelll has been as good as woewodin, i have watched as many collingwood games as StK and i think they would be on a par, if not powelly just a head

Powell is generally overlooked when people are doing there best & fairest lists because he doesnt break open the games like other players have, and generally doesnt stand out. He has been a great pickup, along with Penny.

I think Powell is starting to get noticed more now. The saintsational.com voting goes by BOG instead of just votes. So Powell hasn;t really been BOG in any match. But he might soon
