Doubt it. Htb is ruined creating more mauling. Third man in on ruck is crap. Stand rule has been relaxed. There’s like two more rules, one with too many variations and another that’s gone slack.

We are only scratching the surface with the protect the head rules. It's only a matter of time before the AFL faces a massive law suit which will open Pandora's box. This is why the AFL is trying to be proactive. Hocking was/is just the messenger; this started before he became COO

Only that you make out that Hocking introduced the "protect the head" rules. These started years earlier and have evolved and will continue to evolve.

The mentality of Richmond fans who within four years of his appointment won 3 flags is hilarious. How many should you have won if he was doing his job properly? 6? 11?

Hocking didn't start until 2018. Two days after the 2017 GF Salty was moaning that Richmond's style was "a problem" for the AFL (despite 16 goals in the GF). Richmond hits the top of the ladder in late April 2018 and all of a sudden the media led by Mince Whateley has made "state of the game" the dominant talking point, with Robbo nodding assuredly to the suggestion that the game desperately needed rule changes.

Three years later and 2019-20-21 are the three lowest-scoring seasons since 1967.

Forgive my distrust of everything to do with Geelong and the AFL.

Everything gained. Richmond would have won the premiership this year and next without that rule change then would have been close to beating Collingwoods 4 in a row. Alas not to be. Hocking stepped in and put a stop to all of that with one rule change & now rides off back to Kardinia Park mission accomplished. Just in time to see Geelong play out for a premiership this year.

No, the same rule changes that landed you 'kickers' like Higgins, Smith and a hit up target like Cameron, when kicking became the most important element of the game.
