Not really. You only see me when I have my competitive senses swutched on: before, during, and after the footy; playing indoor soccer; having a kick of the footy, etc.
I'm actually really lazy and laconic the rest of the time.

Looks like you Aussies have the same problem as us Irish.
Everyone seems to think we talk like Leprechauns which is not true (9 times out of 10 anyway!)
But Steve Irwin's obviouly clever enough to realise that his accent sells, especially in a place like America. He's putting on a show to entertain people at the end of the day, and no doubt he's raking in.

Sun FM and Village4 cinemas in Shepparton are promoting the movie. The gimmick is if you find a croc in your mailbox, you get free tickets.
Yesterday I found a plastic alligator (not a croc) in my letterbox.
A sticker on it said to take the "croc" to the box office to receive a free double pass.
I'm not a fan of Steve Irwin so I gave it to a friend at work today.

When I talk to people they seem disappointed that I don't sound like a southerner or a New Yorker.
Strangely enough a lot of people ask me if I'm Canadian. I wouldn't have thought most Australians could tell the difference between us and the Canucks; it is pretty subtle. (I guess if you watch enough Degrassi....)
It wasn't until I spent a great deal of time here that I was able to figure out the differences between you and the Kiwis. It is actually pretty obvious to me now; I can pick it out immediately.
