My situation.. 454.2k (trading Warren out) I'm looking at Stevie J..Only have 6 trades left and will be playing 1 down in the fwd line (Pav/Warren/Wright all inj..) Trading in Stevie J finishes my fwd line off although Franklin is really annoying me but I took the risk earlier and paid for it!

FWD line would read

Riewoldt,Franklin,Deledio,Stevie J,Fev,Higgins,M Brown(Pav,Wright)

Now, with a BE of 103?? Is Stevie J ripe for the picking?I was thinking if I had more then 8k extra I would wait but I'm tipping Stevie J to have a big one.. Either that or I was looking at Skunk Medhurst and pocketing 50k to upgrade Rich or Grimes.. But I'm not overly convinced on Skunk just yet. Also looked at the other options as well.. Porpise, Roughead,Aker.. Not too much after those guys though..
 
Steve J is probably your best choice at that price. J Brown is another to consider.

The reason Steve J has had a couple of bad games in a row is that he has been playing higher up on the ground which is not good for his SC output. He needs to kick goals to get the 90+ scores which he isn't doing up the ground. All he seems to do is mark it outside 50 and kick it straight to an opposition player. Bloody frustrating to watch as a cats supported.......all class/no brains at times.

Chapman and Byrnes seem to have been playing a lot deeper and kicking the goals. If this is a permanent change and Steve J plays more midfield/up the ground I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot barge pole mate. He is a clanger king......make that god. If he goes back to playing deep and kicking goals he is well worth it. Has had a pretty good history against StK as well.
 
Don't tell me that Razor I'd settled on bringing him in!

I have some reservation about his recent scores but it was the fact he was only $446K which had sold me.

If you think recent scoring could be what to expect the next 9 rounds then I'm not so sure now :confused:
 
Hmm, hopefully he stays up forward.. They need him up there!! I have noticed some of last year's scores creeping in but I would like to dismiss that!!

That's the big question mate. Byrnes has been on absolute fire and seems to have taken over from Steve J these last few weeks. Chapman has also been spending less time in the midfield and more time deep forward. This coincides with the return of Harley allowing Bartell to move back into his usual midfield role and away from the back line. Means that there is a fair bit of competition between small forwards kicking goals and it seems that Steve J is missing out big time.

Steve J is capable of ripping out 30 odd possessions playing high and scoring massively still so he is not such a bad pickup. It's just that his clanger count can hurt him a lot if not kicking goals. Might be back to his old self of 40 one week and 140 the next.
 
Did a Nathan Brown > SJ trade this week. Been carrying Brown for weeks and I was fed up basically. Pav's injury sealed the deal

Would have gone Davey but was 800 bucks short:thumbsdown:

Its a bit like sticking with the masses VS a unique-ish pick VS the skunk..

Was going to pick up Stevie J but am growing increasingly concerned with his injury, instead I have decided to wait 2 weeks and pick up Didak for just over 500k
 
May have to use my last trade on this donkey if he doesn't come back soon. Don't really want to and can get away with playing M.Brown for a bit longer as my 7th forward providing Pavlich comes back this week of course or otherwise I will be playing with the fantastic M.Brown and Krispy Creme combo again instead of the Pavlich and Stevie J combo. :eek:
 
Worst trade I made all year was putting S Johnson in @ Round 10. Has gone on to produce scores of 38,123,44, then injured. In hindsight I could have gone for O'Keefe - 139, 151, 134, 143, 137, 185.
 
I'm one of many that traded in SJ the week he was a late withdrawal:rolleyes:

Have since copped 3 donuts. Least i have ROK as well tho (Got him for 464k haha)

not bloody named....if he's not back next week chapman or j brown are getting the gig i think and i'll have to give up on my hope to upgrade suban or jarrah

Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Cornes, Newman, Grimes, Broughton (Grima, Rance)


Going to trade Grimes to Hodge if he aint back by week 2 of the finals. :eek:

Anyone else wondering what to do with Steve Johnson this week?

I realise he is named, but surely he would be in some doubt (Gamble named as emerg).

Even if he does play his last couple of scores are nothing to get excited about.

I have 1 trade left and no playing emergency if he does pull out, so was thinking it might be time to take a risk and trade out S.J for Porp or similar.
 
Even though I have the week off in 2 of my leagues this week (third league is playing this week) I could trade SJ to L.Davis as I have $172,800 in the bank.

Do I save the trade till next week but wont be able to pick up Davis due to price increase or just hang onto the trade?

Its a bit of a catch 22 I reckon. :eek:
