I think he needs to work on his defensive efforts, seemed not prepared to defend and let the Saints get away too easily.

He needs to learn from Kingsley who has really impressed me lately including today with his defensive efforts. Good player just needs to work on that.

Thoughts?

I have the utmost respect for Kingsley's efforts, and he works as hard as anyone in keeping the ball in our forward line. Also, against weaker sides, he leads decisively and strongly, and quite often effectively. However, and I know this is off the topic, We Really Need A Key Forward!!!

Hes a classy player with a great attack on the ball and physical presence. Will hopefully be a consistent 40-50 goals a year player for seasons to come.
Im not doubting that, I think he has great potential. I just think he needs to improve his defensive efforts, I think his attacking efforts are great and he has the skills to make the opposition pay.

I was very happy with Johnnos game today.

Got plenty of the pill, kicked a couple of good goals. A top game all around.

I too was frustrated Sherwood man. He looked at times lethargic and in game like we play now it shows up players who runs harder one way than the other. However on reflection , I feel its probably got a bit to do with his lack of a preseason. He is still paying the price for sitting on the fence, so to speak. His natural talent is getting goals but he lacks the foundation that a big preseason gives you.
Imagine his talent with the work rate of Cam Ling.He curently doesnt present as near as much as KK.If he could get his motor tuned to Lings level, get in gym and build his frame a little more he would replace KK in the side.Look at the goal KK missed, city end, around the body.Id back Johnson to have get it more often than KK.
KK trys but just hast got that same level of "something out of nothing" that guys like Johnson and Ablett possess, he is not a bullitproof kick for goal either so hes not a pure mark and kick guy. I think eventually guys with more talent will push out unless he improves his conversion

Probably at 188 , he is short for FF whereas KK is 193. On those figures you right but KK is a flat footed short tall with good hands and a midfielders motor whereas Johnno is more a natural forward that probably needs to define his position. With a bigger body he would win more one on ones and with more fitness he could present more.He is reasonable overhead, he can jump but mainly he would improve the cleanup that we miss with KK, Ideally I agree he is not A.Lynch but I feel as long King is in the side we will have a requirement for smaller sized FF that can do ground stuff as well. Just remember GAS was 185 , a flanker with a big body.
