Re: What a Joke!

Did someone from the crowd jump the fence and bash him?

How the hell did players ever get found guilty in the old days, you know, before we had footage of every incident.

He should of got a dozen ;)

Fair call. I still remember the likes of Dermie, Billy Duckworth, etc standing over their unconsicous opponents 50 metres behind the play with no-one else remotely in their vicinity.

From memory they still got reported and suspended..

Re: Baker found guilty, what a disgrace

Did Voss lie or tell the truth in his first comment after the clash?
Watch the video again. His FIRST comment was that he DIDN'T see it.

You were saying?

Saints fans = squealers
LOL - Barry Kirkwood ring any bells.

Loser in all this = Freo (who had a very important spark to the team wiped from the field just as he was starting to get going)
Why don't you bawl to the commission? They'll probably give you the points.

Re: What a Joke!

tarrant whacked a a hawthorn player in the ribs b4 going on a lead... was not caught on camera and he got 3 weeks. stevie baker shattered a blokes nose. Even vossy said he saw he it straight away. About time he is a sniper.

Why should we?

This is the same low-life scum who accused Robert Harvey of attacking him in an attempt to get his charge down graded.

Surprise, surprise . . . the (W)AFL fell for it.

I mean Robert Harvey's 350+ game record is full of incidents of him attacking players.

Farmer is low life lying scum. Why should we forget it was him?

Not forgetting that Farmer initially said that he could not remember the incident yet all sudden he suddenly remembered.

And then when he gave evidence he said that he was standing still when he was hit yet it was the tribunal that agreed with Baker's version of events not Farmer's in that Farmer ran in to him

No Farmer is not a liar at all.

Re: What a Joke!

got what he deserved maybe now he wont try and be such a tough guy and belt guys....once a sniper always one.i remember how he belted kane johnson not that long ago.....there are a lot of very good taggers that dont go around belting guys....but watch all the moaners complain now how he was treated harshly.......thats crap

Holy crap, how hard is this to understand. Farmer's evidence DID NOT contribute to the tribunal's decision. It was Baker's evidence that did it. If you want to blame someone, blame Baker's useless advocate, if he had one.

Perhaps you should ask a few of your fellow supporters to move on as well.

I wonder if i should check out saintsational, one part of me would like to see the anger going on there, but another part would be terrified of 100's of ferals all frothing at the mouth, telling us all how they will never watch another game of footy ever again.
lol, you talk about ferals, of all people:p
Anyway no one can predict how this crazy tribunal works, I can't so I'll just look forward to the next game and see what these weirdos have install for us;)

Re: What a Joke!

If St Kilda take it to court, it'd be thrown out because of lack of evidence....

They've taken Baker's evidence of events and he blocked his man.. he still gets done.. geesh.. are we going to have reports every week now?..

If Baker is guilty of more, theres no evidence to support so. Thrown out.

If Baker blocked his man he said, unfortunately for Farmer there was a freak incidence of contact.. These things happen.. just take a look at Luke Ball.. How many times has he been rubbed out in play and no-one has gone in the book for it..

What a Joke!

Ok listen

here, theres some holes in bakers story..Baker said he had a lump on his head from the contact (which funnilly enough wasnt there today when he walked into the tribunal...(fast healer)...

this is physically impossible as baker is 179cm and farmer is 174cm...the contact was to Farmers lower part of his nose and mouth area....

unless farmer was jumping at Baker which he wasnt there is no way in hell baker could have been hit high on his forehead with farmers nose...its impossible in this instance

evidence?? Broken Nose, Concussed and stitches in his mouth....we are not talking about a mere scratch here..

fact Baker has a history of playing outside the rules

What Voss said, what freo trainer said.....

for me theres heaps of evidence to convict Baker...heaps...video isnt the only form of evidence.....

the irony of a collingwood supporter talking about feral supporters :)

FWIW - there must have been some evidence which lead to Baker's decision.

Had it been rob harvey and the same incident he would have got 2-3 weeks due to his good behaviour - the 7 weeks is just the ramifications of Baker's poor record.

it is easily forgotten

People will argue the merits of the guilty verdict - but if guilty the sentence is fair.

In saying that - no one knows what evidence has been presented - only snippets of media releases - yet somehow everyone is an expert on whether he is guilty or not

Re: What a Joke!

Yeah the twat ran into the back of Bakes head

Oh rubbish! I don't like Farmer but you don't end up like he did unless you are belted or deliberately collided with in some way. He was concussed, broken nose with blood spilling from his mouth for heaven's sake. Baker deserves all he got, this little shite has been doing it for too long. Fair enough there are tough taggers these days. I'm not about to deny Ling doesn't most likely get away with close checking tactics he shouldn't some times but he doesn't resort to wacking people like this @$$hole.

Re: What a Joke!

*Awaits the biased w***ers to give their opinions on what a dog Baker is and he deserved 7 weeks.*

Dog or not, Baker should not have been suspended for this incident.

Pretend for a minute it was a player from your team in this situation...

why?

did you sit on the tribunal and hear the evidence presented?

or are you basing your opinion on the media releases that have been disseminated?

Bullshit, if you collide with the back of someones head in motion you can do a lot of damage

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Farmer gave evidence over the phone and his evidence was 100% completely opposite to the evidence that Baker gave which the tribunal deemed to be true.

Farmer's evidence DID NOT contribute to the tribunal's decision because he LIED not once but twice as he said after game that he could not remember anything yet all sudden  it all came rushing back into that lonesome single brain cell that he keeps hidden in his fat @rse

Now how hard is that to understand!!!

I think Farmer is a dog with the best of him - but it is not unreasonble that your memory of an incident can come back over time.

i copped a blow in high school and didn't know how I ended up in hospital - i somehow knew who did it - but not why - needless to say I was sh1tty with them for a matter of weeks.

later that I started to remember some information - and realised that is was only an accident - though to this day I can't put all the pieces together - just random fragmented memories

it isn't unthinkable that Jeff could get his memory back, like it isn't that Baker snotted him.

the tribunal heard the full case from both sides and on the balance of probabilities found baker guilty

we the fans don't know the full facts - so arguing the merits of the case without video evidence is somewhat fruitless

It has been 3 days. You ever been knocked out? You also seem to be assuming that Baker was telling the truth. Let me think, did he have any reason to lie?

Re: What a Joke!

Are you seriously suggesting he didn't belt him off the ball?

Read what verdict the tribunal handed down. They disregarded the 'evidence' from both Farmer and the impartial trainer, and accepted that Baker had blocked with excessive force.

Blocking = 4 weeks.

Its not quite and eye gouge is it ? Or getting angry with some verbal abuse and punching a bloke in the head four times.

Still, Freo will continue to bleat about being harshly treated by the AFL for something or another.

They'll always be the little brother over there.....

Off the field, and this would have been an assault case.
Oh please. . . talk about melodramatic.

I'd have thought with your team's off field record you'd know all about assult charges? Next time Farmers arrested please pay attention.

Perhaps you'd like to explain how Farmer looked like a car crash victim? Baker did not deny touching him.
Plenty of incidents happen where players are injured and there's no suspension.

Ask Luke Ball.

Farmer was not knocked out he was concussed and broke his nose

That said even when he did get his memory back he still could not get it right

Once a liar always a liar he has done it before why not again

This wasn't just a scratch!

Off the field, and this would have been an assault case.

You'd know all about sooks with Riewoldt?

Perhaps you'd like to explain how Farmer looked like a car crash victim? Baker did not deny touching him.

thats right he didn't deny touching him because he was the only one telling the truth he moved back to make contact on farmers body but as he does not have eyes in the back of his head what sort of contact or intent cannot be proved, players do this in every game and just because farmer wasn't paying attention and accidentally got cleaned up it shouldnt be our problem, funny how players always talk about a code to protect other players, farmer has for years been know as one of the dirtiest footballers in the league very quick to change he's story and dob Baker in:thumbsdown:

and Baker has so much integrity *cough*
