Remember him in state juniors. Could have been a gun. Misused by Williams early on. And you are right, injuries ruined him. Lost his mum in a freak car accident at 18 just as they signed him up at Port as I remember.

'Spud' is a bit harsh, but I wouldn't want him taking up a spot on our list ahead of Gillies, or a rookie promotion (which is what it would end up being).

Yeh, that was my memory of him too. Just a talented player who never really got going as such. Port has a few of those who failed to kick on.
