It is!

My point is that plenty have already said it (Walls On The Couch, Maher on SEN) and we've all had our little rant about it already and this article has added no new facts/information so it's starting to become like a broken record...

Tell me I'm missing something. You're not happy because people are pointing to Nick's weight issues because he has had them before and it's not news any longer?

No, that's it been done to death already THIS WEEK and this article has added nothing new to what has already been done THIS WEEK, that's all...oh yeah and that Michael Gleeson is propagating an anti-Carlton agenda and that his article was nothing more than an empty shell of headline grabbing bullshit!

really typifies the last 5 years. Yes Stevens shouldnt be eating or drinking so much, but surely someone, someone at the club could see it and say enough is enough mate.

Unfortunately it pretty much typifies where we have been as a club. We have been behaving like it was still the 1980's, 1990's, instead of moving with the times.

I'm all for personal responsibility, but players also need education as well.

As a club we have been slack in putting in place the disciplines needed to succeed at the modern game:eek:

Does anyone think Stevo should be dropped to the VFL for a couple of weeks to send a message to the playing list that those who don't prepare properly will not be tolerated? I think we as a club are just about reaching the time where we should start making some tough decisions in relation to senior players that aren't doing the right thing.

You would think that they would have to think about it. If nothing else we have too many underdone players in the one's anyway:eek:

Sadly, I don't think you are far off the mark here. The only pre-season Stevo had done the right thing (so actually maybe he shouldn't be praised just for doing what he should anyway).....but the only one was when he was a chance at being Captain. To his credit last year when he didn't get it he still pushed hard and was in career best form.

Unfortunately how much of the fitness push was to do with a very lucrative contract coming to an end? Does Stevo really have a hunger for football anymore...or is it just a paycheck?

We need a fit and firing Stevo to move forward as a club:thumbsu:

So, what, are your lips superglued to Judd's arse or can they come off now?

Because Chris is at the club, doesn't mean each player has to follow him around, peeping around corners to see every thing the guy does. I'm sure Juddy wouldn't want that either.

You don't have to follow Judd around like an awestruck schoolboy to learn from him. You can actually just ask him questions:D

Stevo is coming back from a very serious injury which is a valid defence, but would a player such as Judd coming back from the same injury be in the same condition?

With Lance it was all tied into his knee.

He needed to lose the weight so he had half a chance of playijng without injections.

If Lance's knee was fine he'd still (shudder) be captain of the club, and yes...........Stevo's weight would proabably go unnoticed.

I agree though that in this phase, while we'd like to win with our best team, the greater good might be served by sending a signal to the rest of the group.
Yank Stevo for a month and get him to the fat farm to lose 10kg, bring him back through the Ants.

I'm not sure a fat farm is a good idea mate. It didn't work with Lance:eek:
It just gives them a copout instead of changing their lifestyles. If they didn't have poor diets and love a brew they wouldn't blowup as much when they are injured. You just can't do what they used to do in the 90's and expect to play good football anymore.

Touche', let's ask him:p.

True, but i doubt at this stage of his footy career he can make the change permament without an epiphany.

I'd settle for some tough love to force him over the next few years then ditch him......even push up his trade value and send him to the Magpies.:thumbsu:

Not happy at all with the presentation of the leadership group,
who, to be paid the big krugerrands ,
have shown nothing in regards to fitness, application or attitude.

For a senior player to present with a beer gut is extremely disappointing.

There is a major difference between being fit,
and being match hardened.

Time to crack the whip.

Lance Whitnal, eat your heart out.

Maybe we are missing something and not giving credit where credits due?

It could be a slimmed down Lance Whitnall?? :D

Probably fair enough he's been cut a bit of slack due to his neck situation but FMD, this is footy - it's serious.

i'm over his neck injury... if he aint fit, send him to bullants... he is way to ahead of himself... he is slow, outside and hasn't got a defensive bone in his body... send him back to bullants and get him to tag someone like franchina or another hack just to teach him lesson..
