Hearing pick 22 plus a swap of 3rd + 4th rounders. Which is what I said would happen a while back, and then I got swept up in the tide of PSD.

22 will be 25. I think around 15 is appropriate. So yeah, a fair gap, particularly in a weak draft.

Essendon know the Bullies really want and need Crameri.

The Bombers would also be well aware that they won't get a better pick than 22 elsewhere.
Given that Crameri has nominated the Bullies - if I am not wrong? Then Essendon are just posturing and the deal for 22 will go through later on in the trade period.
The Bullies just need to hold their ground, wait it out and then the rest of history.

Like I had posted a couple of times before. I don't see why some consider him worth about pick 15. Bulldogs do not have that pick, and it will be really hard to get it. Also giving up a player like JJ would then make the deal become overs.

Crameri has been the Bombers leading goal kicker the past three seasons. But that label (leading goal kicker) is so badly misused. At the most, he has kicked 35 goals in one season with a good midfield kicking to him. The Hawks will get pick 19 for Buddy, so one surely cannot say Crameri is worth more than that. Also Giansiracusa has kicked more goals the past three seasons combined than Crameri has. Yet no one would rate him anymore than a third round pick. The fact these two players lead both teams goal kicking lists is a reflection of the state of both teams forward lines. Plus Crameri is not a key position 50-70 goal forward, more of the 30-40 goal a year type. Which in my opinion, pick 22 is very fair.

Out of contract player that has chosen to leave and nominated a team means you get unders.

Crameri might be worth pick 15 but 22 down to 24-25 is as good as its gonna get other than some minor pick swaps.

Its harsh when one of your players walks but when a player comes the other way, its the opposite.

Because in there eyes 2 AFL premierships beats our zero AFL premierships. but i guess at the same time they forget that all their off field bullshit that has happened in the last 20 years including salary cap breaches and drug cheating has brought their reputation/brand down immensely.
Must be why we struggle to attract million dollar sponsors and members and crowds and players and.........

The way you 2 carry on it's like you are getting Carlisle, Hurley or Daniher off of us.
How is the Patton trade going for you guys?

Can't see many Dogs fans 'carrying' on at all actually. Crameri wants to come to us - we just want to get a deal done. Considering you guys want a first round draft pick - maybe we should be chasing Carlisle or Hurley instead.

Crameri should be out of the club before the ASADA shit storm hits a least.

If this shit storm is referring to infractions, which is about all there is that could possibly come, I wouldn't be wishing for that if i were you. You could have an expensive new recruit sitting on the sidelines.

Tippett sat half a year out - the Swans had no problem waiting for him.

I am sure the Dogs would be ok with waiting for 6 months for Crameri - 2 years is a different story.

Admittedly I've only viewed this thread sporadically however I've noticed Essendon fans aren't that fussed he is or wants to leave, any of you disappointed he wants out? I always thought he was handy for you, could have nailed 10 against us last year if his radar was on.

Crameri out
Chapman in + what we get from the Dogs. = Win

In the last 2 seasons

Crameri - Chapman
Games: 34 - 29
Kicks: 254 - 383
H/Balls: 202 - 207
Disposals: 456 - 590
Marks: 146 - 134
Goals: 62 - 48
Tackles: 72 - 128

Chapman will cost nothing, $200,000 cheaper and has Crameri covered in every area easily. Nothing to complain about from me.

Hard to say long terms whether he would be a best 22, that said at this stage I am a little disappointed but I don't hold anything against him as players have to look after their future and it is twice the amount of money we can offer.

Now the offer from the Dogs is twice as much?? 1.8 mill over 4 years is not twice as much as 1.1 mill over 3 years.

Close enough, it is substancially more, is that better for you. 700k is not pocket money!

After tax he is leaving for an extra 42k a year.

Ess - 366k a year Dogs 450k. LOL - close enough to double.

It is 700,000 differnce, that is enough for anyone to move and I don't hold anything against anyone leaving for that amount. Don't bring tax into it- no-one knows how anyone structures their tax, there are a million ways to get around it (tax havens, etc)

Wild Bill, you love footy, hate Essendon, love North, put on your list management hat on for 1 minute and give me your thoughts about this.

I think it could actually benefit the Bombers, By having Crameri and Gumby leave we no longer need 2 of Daniher, Bellchambers, Gumby or Crameri to be playing through the reserves, If we get pick #22 for Crameri and #40>50 odd for Gumby it puts us back into the draft. Then we sign Chapman who has it over both these players together playing less games.
Also our biggest weakness is Jetta and Davey which would be the exact position Chapman fills.

Where have you seen 160k for Chapman?

Also you are getting Paul Chapman 2014 - not the 2012 version when he played 21 games.

We either pay Crameri $450,000 or he leaves

Chapman $250,000 a season
Crameri $450,000 X 4 = 1.8 mill over 4 seasons.

$450,000 - $250,000 = $200,000

Even comparing Chapman and Crameri in 2013, Chapman played half the games and some as a sub and still has Crameri well covered stat wise.

I like the punt on Chappy - if you can get 12-15 games out of him it will be a massive win and an upgrade on Jetta and Davey. Also come finals time he will definitely be an ace you could be holding (if you make it and he is fit).

Gumby is no loss goals wise - Crameri is as its 30 plus goals you have to replace. I am not convinced 2014 is the year Daniher steps up and becomes a player - he looks like he will need a few more pre-seasons before leading your forward line. Hurley will stay forward if Gumby and Crameri leave. I don't see that as a positive as he looks like a great CHB and an average CHF.

You have a surplus of talls but these are you backmen - Carlisle, Hurley, Hooker, Fletcher, Pears.
Rucks - Ryder Belly
Fowrads - Daniher, Gumby, Crameri.

Pears and Crameri are not KPP but can play tall.

Ryder is clearly your best ruckmen but forced to play forward when Bellchambers plays. When Bellchambers was dropped Ryder's form went through the roof. He is a natural ruckman - like Hurley - being played out of position.

I would be looking at the back line to move players on before the forward line. It was dysfunctional this year and you are moving on your natural forwards.

The Bulldogs are not the Swans. Silly comparison.
