Because there was no discussion. The thread opened with 'Essendon annoy me'. It was simply a means of trolling Essendon. Feel free to actually talk about Crameri, otherwise I'll just lock it again. Or perhaps you'd prefer to start a Western Bulldogs Offseason thread?
Thank gawd for that.....now, any realistic offers for the one known as Cram dog..

Does Gumby have any value? In particular, first round upgrade value. He's played an average of 5 games a year. It would be a massive risk for someone with salary cap pressure to take him.

Seems to be over the worst of his injuries, played 16 games this year (VFL & AFL), I doubt he would be on much coin.

Freo and Carlton both made enquiries last year, so there was interest then, and I can't imagine its less now after he actually had a relatively injury free year.

I think his trade value would be a pick in the 30s, at absolute best if there were multiple clubs chasing him.

I would just swap crameri for shaw love him at the pies better than white .

And that's the other idea with making it known what Essendon value Crameri at (pick in the mid teens).

Trade period is a long period now and things can change pretty quickly - maybe a club with a slightly higher pick misses a target and looks at him - they get in his ear with a good deal and we tell him he can get there easily.

Anything can still happen, no need to rush into a deal on day 1 if you think it's unders.

On your point, I'd do Crameri for Shaw in a heartbeat.

Crameri seems to have spurts of good games + a string of games where he drops his head and seems disinterested. I really wanted him at one stage but after kicking 30 goals last year + his injury issues I rather we kept pick 22 tbh. If we get him in the PSD great, if St Kilda or Melbourne sign him up so be it.

And I rather we kept Crameri.

I dunno if Gumby will ever be over his injuries, seems to be made of glass.

Agreed with at best, I would think he would more likely be a 3rd rounder.

yea thats starting to look like the best scenario for all parties, but Crameri wants to leave so who knows. Also he has that ASADA cloud hanging over his head so thats another drawback for us.

Gumby only has value in the eyes of Bomber supporters. Bit like Williams and Higgins at the Dogs. Potential elevates you to a position which you cannot or your body will not let you reach on a regular basis.

From what I have heard, Essendon are keen on Johannisen... Maybe they are chasing him in this deal ?

From what you have heard meaning you have read the herald sun reporting it for the past few weeks?

Jason McCartney, our list manager, has said JJ is not on the table. He's five years younger than Crameri and is a best 22 player with attributes we desperately need more of.

You want a player to go with the pick it could be Addison, Grant or Higgins. Those three are the only ones we'd realistically part with in my opinion. Higgins still not likely, Grant maybe and Addison more than likely.

Not just the Herald Sun article, heard it well before that as well. Albeit, not from a great source.
I never said we would get him, I am just suggesting that we most likely would have suggested when Pick 22 was offered.

I suggest that his trade value is lower. Made a massive mistake in not accepting the Bulldogs two year offer. Gumby perfectly fits the Power profile of a power forward, bu there appears to be little interest.

Gumby may struggle to find a home.

Gumby has been injury free for the last two years. Missed two games on average in 2012 and 2013 with niggles.

Thread title says Stewart Crameri. Not, Essendon suck at trading. Keep it on topic.

Chris25, you may as well join this thread to the other Essendon trade thread as we are talking about Crameri, Gumby, Jetta, Essendon ect same stuff.

If he wasn't injured, then he just isn't good enough obviously as he couldn't regularly crack the best 22.

Gumby has a problem because he is fighting for a spot ahead of 2 of Hurley, Bellchambers, Ryder, Crameri and Daniher,

Gumby has a problem as once the ball hits the ground he becomes a statue. His injuries has taken his mobility away. You can't have two key forwards that are unable or won't apply defensive pressure.
