Pretty similar to the Luke Ball situation at St. Kilda a few years ago really.

Essendon would be mad not to take at least something for him.

They don't want to end up in a situation 3-4 years from now where the Saints are currently (not having any decent players come from the draft over the next 2 years), as that kills your list.

He's probably worth somewhere between 16 - 20. But given our position on the ladder and therefore access to the PSD, given his stated links to Macca, his preference to come to the Dogs, his powerful agent - we could be offering far, far less and pushing him into the PSD.

I think we've tried to be fair about it so far.

The reaction was no so much that a trade wasn't done, it was the reports that Essendon have stopped negotiating altogether.

I think a deal will get done eventually, and Crameri is not the only fish we're chasing apparantly so a third party or different picks may come into play in the next week or two.

Bingo. Essendon have stopped negotiating are the words that have inflamed the whole trade process.

Maybe I'm getting confused between Stringer, Grant and Crameri's heights...

And Dale Thomas missed 99% of the season injured. He's (Crameri) a proven performer in an age bracket and position we have gaps in. Most people that 22 is around the mark, some a bit higher, some a bit lower..

Dogs are wasting their time dealing with Essendon. Worst team in the AFL to trade with (unless you are Mark Williams)

Continue to screw teams over like that and the same will be done to you first chance clubs get. Its good to keep it relatively sensible and offer something at least close to the mark.
