What I've learnt over the years is that when a trade takes place the team losing the player is initially not happy with the pick they get. Everyone over values what they're giving up. The fact is that when a player wants to leave your club and is out of contract, you really have no bargaining position other than to try and stuff him up by sending him to the PSD in the hope that another club will pick him up before his preferred choice has a pick.
My view is that as soon as a player wants out, he becomes bad for the team ethic/structure. Because of this he has to be gotten rid of and you put him up for trade and take the best possible pick and move on as quickly as possible.
I sympathise with the Ess supporters but not their club. If Crameri goes to the PSD and Ess get nothing then that's the Club getting what was coming to them after using their players as Guinee pigs.
Take the pick Essendon and move on. Crameri has zero chance of playing at your club next year and you have zero chance of getting anything more than our 2nd round pick.

Melbourne don't need forwards and St kilda do but seriously more than pick 22 for Crameri? Tell them they're dreaming

We have offered Pick 22, but also have other needs. If filling those needs means using Pick 22 and letting Crameri go to the PSD, so be it. We have discussed this on other threads, we're not intending to be arses about this, but our hand is being forced somewhat.

No we wont. Crameri wont take the risk and will nominate the PSD. He doesnt have to enter the ND. Pick 4 is ours and we will take him then.

Dogs have been very fair in the past.

As for this trade, the dogs have been more than reasonable.

I agree completely. But we have publicly offered 22, which is a fair deal wouldn't you agree? Essendon are not agreeing, and are pushing for more. If we say 22, Essendon don't take it, we put a deadline on it, Essendon refuse to deal, and then we get Crameri in the PSD, it's not screwing them over. It's playing fair, getting sick of them and so making them pay for their stubbornness.

For the same reason no club took Ball or Tippett, Crameri wants to go to the Dogs, and can refuse to sign with another club.
St Kilda and Melbourne would respect his wish.

If he isn't traded it is pretty much guaranteed he'll get to the dogs via PSD.
 
I think if another club wanted him they would get him. Remember McCarthy being taken by port after declaring he wanted to get to tigers.
The three clubs with picks before have enough key forwards like melbourne or don't want to pay the price he is asking. Of course they may respect his wish but wouldn't bet on it.

crameri is too valuable a player for the clubs prior to dogs to let slip past for free

psd isn't an option for the dogs and they know it

Melbourne certainly wouldn't take him. I guess GWS would have the $ and need the experience. Not sure on saints cap space. Still think would be a good chance to get to dogs.

Melbourne would take him, he'd be their best player.
 
Funny thing is no one has thought the reason essendon are not dealing -they offered 3round pick and a player not a second -to force him to nominate

This and that goes double if he nominates terms and goes into the ND. How many picks below 22 would a club risk on a player on big coin who doesn't want to be there. It will be Luke Ball part II but with a higher pick used to snare Crammers.

It was quoted you tabled 22....dig it up..

So either the actual people who have been quoted saying this are liars or you didn't actually speak to his manager,is he on big footy also? we could solve it all here...
