I reckon you blokes are a good chance this weekend. Any team that has
copped as much criticism as your blokes have is bound to come out with
a few matters to settle and silence the critics. There is only one way to
silence a critic and that is to ram it down their throat.

Too true, Meekaboy. It isn't over until it is over.

Stan Alves said the other day that in all his time in footy he had never seen anything close to the amount of vilification that Freo cop.

No. But the game isn't this week.
Very true IP, very true. But if you're making predictions now about a game, you have to make them on current form, and that does not indicate 50/50 at all.

(and Moo, if you read this, I want my Jade Monkey back now, and have my voodoo doll of Luke McPharlin's hamstrings ready. Don't make me use it. That fake you tried to hand off... well now you know why Robbie Haddrill's out for the season)

if we get dry games i'm happy to agree with you dwayo & hope you're right
i still remember melbourne beating us in the deluge in the last qtr of that game last year - so will feel that sick feeling in pit of stomach if game day brings the threat of a downpour
us making the 8 is probably an outside chance unfortunately

CC is confident and his word is that he backing his group of players. They have a lot of confidence in each other and Freo got a lot of confidence in them and the futures exciting from that point of view.

Winnning 7 or 8 from the 9 is very achievable and still confident in CC to get us into the top 8.

We all hope Dwayo , But going on the last 13 games and the last half of last year , It wont happen .

Our season was on the line against the Kanga`s and we only managed 2 points in the last quarter .

Yep, you can’t keep denying our form forever. The first step to recovery is to recognise that you have a problem.

Now I’d be mighty obliged if a fellow freo supporter could tell me what the cause of our problems are/is. Until then I will take whatever satisfaction I can from watching the new players occasionally do something special and give me hope for the future.

Derbies in the last few years have always been close. I don't see it insulting. The fact is the eagles will lose some more games, who knows how many but they won't go though the year with one loss. The only constant thing in life is change, no team can keep winning forever.
Where were you in 2000?

CC will still be there until 2007 and hopefully longer. He is the best coach Freo can have and will get into the top 8 this year.
What is it they say about blind faith?

Dwayo , Love your confidence !!!!

Cant run away from the stats , CC has proved that after appearing 5th in 2003 , we`ve improved to 9th in 2004 and now looking at a double figure finish in 2005 . Prior to the season starting and prior to CC having his contract extended before a ball was bounced , I heard CC on the radio and he was asked where do the Dockers need to finish for himself to have a new contract , he said i under no illusions we must finish in the 8 for myself to keep my job . 2 weeks before the season started , they gave him a new contract and I have`nt heard cc for ages say we will finish in the 8 . Prior to the season starting Pav said if we dont make the 8 "Head will Roll" ..these are all quoted comments from our team .

Last season we hear that Team Harmony was a major problem , (CC should have dealt with it and snipped it in the bud)this year the club has fed the line injuries .. What next season ???
Docker fan from Day one , Fondation Membership , seat holder etc etc ... so I am sick of the promises and let downs . But will always support us like no tomorrow . But as a supporter , I am not going to stop having my views and desire for the Dockers only way to go forward is to have a coach with a profile . After 3 coaches with no profiles , the time has come to get ourselves one before we lose our chance with this talented group of players .
ie. Brisbane like us before they got Matthews
Adelaide , promising ,then they got Blight

That was 5 years ago buddy.... a long time ago.

The eagles will lose more than 1 game for the year, probably 3-4 i think. The derbies in recent years..... and in recent i mean the last 3 years have basically been 1 a year.

This time last year when the eagles where sitting at 5-8 and we had knocked you off just a month before you probably had the same opinion as i do. The eagles aren't unbeatable, at some stage during the year you will have a downer, you just have to worry it's not in Late August and september. :D

If you go after Malthouse you should be aware that his shelf life is limited - about 4-5 years tops.

If he doesn't bring home the bacon in that time he never will.

I dont want Malthouse , jsut using him as a example as sad as I am using him . The wce needed his profile and nastiness for them to take the next step .. (As hard as it is for me to admit that  )
We need someone who is a high profile name ...

But we got CC under contract , so we need him to get nasty , aggressive and less joking around . :(

That is so outrageous I had to laugh mate. Could you imagine the noise of 30000 odd fremantle supporters heads exploding if we heard Malthouse linked to Freo.

People who think we should go after Malthouse are believing in fairies.

Malthouse will never leave Victoria to coach another club. He has already done ten years in WA coaching and for someone who wants to live over east that is more than enough. He will most likely retire once his time is up with Collingwood.

If the players have the same mentality as most of you do (excluding Azza and Dwayo) then we're screwed. End of story. I believe we're still a chance, being realistic I know it's a very slim chance and if we can't absolutley smash the bulldogs then we're up the creek but the point is it's there if our boys want it. If they want this nightmare to end, this barrage of media scrutiny to ease up, this load of taunting from fans from every club including our own to stop then they will come out to play in which they could make finals.

To sum that up this run home really is more a test of where the players heads are at. Whether they want finals and they want success or whether they're soft. If it's the latter then we need a near complete overhaul!

Is that even theoretically possible?

A bit like saying it could get worse than 2001.
Very much possible. We win 6 or 7 from our next 8 and we are in. The way we played at Adelaide, plus beating both Geelong and Melbourne (GF contenders) show that we have it.

So I am staying very optimistic, have full faith in CC and his coaching for us to there this year. Next year with full squad, we are definetly top 4 material and our first GF.

I will be cheering CC and the boys on tomorrow.

Great to be optimistic and many Freo supporters are. Many are still there from day one. But one also needs to be realistic and the realism is that we will be lucky to win another 4 games.

With Port & Brisbane on the march, the gap already is too big for Freo to make the 8 as they will never win the next 8 in a row. A loss this week will futher compound the problems and my view is that we will finish at the bottom of the table in around 13/14th spot.

Time to get rid of CC and let some one else have a go. He does not have a clue.

So if we win 7 of the last 9 and miss out on the 8 due to other teams doing well and us doing badly early in the season, you'd still want CC sacked as punishment for the first half/middle of the year?

How about we see how we go in the last 9 games, then we'll let the board do their job. If CC, the other coaches or any of the players are thinking about anything other than how to beat the dogs tomorrow, then I'd be very surprised. As supporters we should be doing the same. Leave it to the doomsayers on Redneck Radio and the rags to do the predictions.

But just to let you know, a win tomorrow by more than 6 goals will put us into 11th spot and 3 games and 14% from 3rd spot, or even 2nd if Adelaide lose.

Any of the teams above us are vunerable is they crash and burn. I would have thought that Richmond, Swans and Roos were the most in danger... but who knows it could be Melbourne, Lions or even the Crows.

All we have to do is play well, win, and if we sneak into the finals, great, if we don't, then it isn't the end of the world, as long as we think we are closer to getting their next year. Remember the team that's currently a mile in front of the other 15 was in a similar position to us last year. It can be done.
