We're a better team with Rahilly than we would be with Goodes...

Well Bobcat thinks so anyway. ;)

Oh man, I did not need to see that. Please stop.

- where are you getting them from anyway?

Yes the ones we miss always hurt but what about the ones we got
To judge our picking ability one must have Target for its just not practical to expect to get a good player with every pick . I feel the target of 2 to 3 quality players each year is a healthy target but we should add a minimum of 1 player every draft to our list that is a worthy commodity, in other words no years with all wasted dead picks, worth nothing that are eventually delisted So as far as I'm concerned since 99 we are definitely better than par.
To bring up the Foster from the 99 draft is a bit hard on the Cats. If I was to pick anyone, I would say the Ezra Bray pick was the one I would say could be questioned. Even at the time I remember reading the write ups and Green was consider by most a top 10, that he got thru to Melbourne was amazing. That being said 99 gave us Joel Corey, Enright, Chapman, Spriggs and Ling. That’s is A grade drafting. Street was a good try, big men are rare and if one can get a half decent one he's worth heeps. Even after little success with him we still got Hanyes for Street so that pick lives on.2000 when we stuffed around getting White and Murphy we still got Hunt.2001 what could you say.Bartel. Kelly Ablett and on it goes.
The trouble with the draft is it really a raffle and early days we very ordinary at it. Whether its Thompson or others, we have improved and are now starting to reap the benefit. If we can continue at this rate from now on, try to emulate Essendon , have a list that one manages well and never bottoms out then the ones we miss will not hurt as much
