Starting to think the plane is landed somewhere and is intact.

Why would someone hijack a plane, turn off all communication, turn the plane around and fly for 5 hours just to crash it into the ocean? Makes no sense. As for the passengers, I pray they are alive but I highly doubt it.

Why would they need to steal a plane though? If the US theories are true that they might use it for "future use", then that is beyond ******* scary.

To recap from this morning's press conference on the missing plane:

"Deliberate action" was taken on board Flight MH370 to alter the direction of the aircraft, Malaysia's prime minister has confirmed.

During a dramatic press conference held this morning, Najib Razak said new satellite evidence had come to light which had shed new light on the disappearance.

He stopped short of saying the aircraft had been hijacked, but said the fact that the plane's change of direction was consistent with a "deliberate action" by someone on board.

The government has confirmed it!!!!!!!!!! ;):rolleyes:
You quoted a story from an number of hours ago where an unnamed government official was quoted by News as saying it was hijacked. It's been posted before in this thread.

They specifically avoided saying that it has been hijacked in the press conference.

The stuff that I just posted came from the Malaysian PM.
Didn't quote you.

So they've known the ENTIRE TIME the plane went to 45,000ft and changed direction. They let multiple countries conduct searches for a crashed plane.

The Chinese would be mighty pissed off. Malaysia Airlines have acted like dogs.

Considering most of these sources have been American in the last few days, all this info has probably already been shared with the other countries before the public.

No, this information is somewhat new.

The Malaysians have said all along that they couldn't confirm it was the plane on their radar. In recent days others (the US I presume) have been analysing the raw radar data. This is why the Malaysian PM made the comment about putting their national security second to finding the plane.

Malaysia would be embarrassed but really most countries wouldn't have the capability to work this out on their own.

So now there's a 777 out there in the hands of terrorists? Far out.

Then the passengers could be alive. I wonder what the families are thinking now? Most would have started to give up hope on them ever coming back.
Quite possible. Who knows.

If I stole a plane and had it sitting it on the ground, I'd want the passengers alive and in the plane to make sure a cruise missile didn't land on my head.

That's just me though. :)

Will they eventually be able to pinpoint which corridor the plane was flying along and where exactly within the corridor? Or is this general info of the 2 corridors as good as it gets?

That's 250 people you have to feed, guard etc for who knows how long... An inconvenience you'd probably just get rid of. Only hope for those people really is that instead of killing them they just abandoned them into a jungle somewhere to fend for themselves.

So do we assume that the stolen passport duo are the hijackers? Or the pilots have gone rogue? Or another option? This really is an amazing story, hope the passengers are still alive out there somewhere but I personally very much doubt it.
