I'm ruling out the wing being broken because of a previous problem, they say boeing had fixed it.

I'm not ruling out those Iranians.

I'm not ruling out it has landed somewhere by terrorists to be used at another time.

It could have been intended to be turned back by hijackers to hit the Malaysian Twin towers.

I'm ruling out the plane spontaneously combusted.

It could be in outer space.

I'm hoping terrorists landed it, hostages alive to be rescued.

Is it possible for terrorists to deactivate the black box and all other communications?
Ummmm... it could be in outer space?

And why would terrorists hijack a plane and not just buy a black market nuke?

And why would terrorists nicely let off and let free 200 westerners and then go fly a plane into a building full of 2,000 westerners?

It's extremely hard to believe that this plane has landed yet cannot be detected. But one of the many theories being thrown around is that it's been taken to one of the old abandoned airports in Vietnam left over from the war.
Would need to be remote, as surely someone saw a plane of that size landing there.

I really hope that is the case though. If that comes to fruition, it would be one of the greatest things ever...because I believe they are gone :(

Aliens are firming in the betting market.

Although if aliens did take the plane it would just remain an unexplained mystery, unless they made some announcement they'd taken it before becoming our overlords and making us their slaves.

Where would they land undetected?
Anywhere with a 10,000 ft runway.

Not many 10,000 ft abandoned airports in Vietnam I'd bet.

Not a bad theory though.

How long before Aliens are a real option? 1 year? 5 Years? I'm gonna go 25 years, then we can call aliens
What if another commercial airliner vanished under similar mysterious circumstances in a few days time?

That would really throw the alien conspiracy cat amongst the pigeons, not to mention make people shit themselves about air travel.

Evidently inspector Cluseau is taking point on this case.

Incidentally, saying good night or good day is common radio activity when going from one handler to the next.

Exactly. The same people that worry about flying after an accident then go and drive down the monash freeway after a fatal accident. Go figure. If you are going to worry about being involved in an air crash you should also plan on winning lotto because it is more likely.
Yeah i know it's irrational only been a plane probably 8 times in my life (including return trips)
It's just heights and not being in control when your in the plane cause panic attacks for me.
Infact i had to take valium just to fly to Melbourne last year, sad i know :(

Summary
Here’s a summary of the latest developments.
  • The Malaysian authorities leading the investigation into the missing plane have added to the confusion about its last known whereabouts. At a hostile press conference military officials said the last possible recording of flight MH370 was at 2.15am on Saturday morning 200 miles north west of the mainland. The authorities had initially said air traffic control lost contact at 1.20am on the east side of the peninsula. On Tuesday the head of the armed forces was reported as saying it was picked up by military radar at 2.40am - a statement he has since denied making.
  • The search area has been expanded still further to two areas either side of the Malaysia peninsula. The total search area now covers 27,000 square nautical miles and involves 42 ships and 39 aircraft.
  • The investigators said they were still not sure whether the aircraft changed course and were “baffled” by why no distress signal was sent. Malaysia military chief said raw data of the radar recordings would be released to the public once it had been corroborated.
  • Malaysia Airlines insisted that the missing Boeing was airworthy before taking off, but declined to reveal whether it had been inspected for a known potential problem with the fuselage. In November the Federal Aviation Administration warned airlines to look out for corrosion under the skin of the Boeing 777’s fuselage. The airlines chief executive said he would need to check to find out if the missing aircraft had been inspected for the possible fault.
  • China has expressed more frustration at the slow progress of the investigation. A foreign minister spokesman said the release of the information had been “chaotic”. China’s ambassador to Malaysia, Huang Huikang, took a front row seat at today’s press conference.

Read a conspiracy theory that Malaysia is purposely throwing people off because the plane actually was hijacked, and the government is currently meeting demands of terrorists. If true I could image that one thing that was said was 'if the media get wind of this we'll kill everyone on board'.

The Straits Times has more on Vietnam’s decision to resume a full scale search, after announcing it was scaling back operations.

It could even ramp up the search on Thursday, Vietnamese navy deputy commander Le Minh Thanh said on Wednesday evening.

The flip flop was a result of reports that the plane was detected by Malaysian military radar over the Strait of Malacca, away from South China Sea waters off southern Vietnam being scoured by its ships and helicopters.

It caused Vietnamese deputy minister of transport Pham Quy Tieu to announce on Wednesday morning a temporary suspension of most search activities.

That evening though, Rear Admiral Thanh told reporters that the Vietnamese government still had not received any direct confirmation from Kuala Lumpur, but was resuming its search because of news that Malaysian authorities had denied reports about MH370’s Malacca Strait course.

“We will continue our search tomorrow, like we did today,” he told a room packed with reporters at an airport in the south Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc.

The reports of seeing an aircraft on fire make the theory of shooting the plane down a possibility.
I mean i don't blame them if terrorists were targeting a city or something.
In 9/11 fighter jets were scrambled but the plane hit the twin towers before they arrived.
We clearly aren't being told everything though, with all these contradictory details.
It must be so hard for these families not knowing what exactly happened to their loved ones.
