 what is going on .......... the injury list apart from being an absolute joke (sometimes), has been on the 1 - 2 week scenario for quite some time now but to no avail...... I want an answer, at least give us something, we know he trained the last 2 weeks..........so hopefully they are just being cautious and not over-cautious ....... come on collingwood is the kid a chance or is he finished ???? I hope the latter but struggling to keep the faith...
I think he will be available in 1 to 2 weeks

you hope him to be finished?

Not injured this week apparently.....could this mean that he is good to go now? Or that with Cloke out we need Rus for the VFL team? Straight to the 1sts with him?:p Injury lists the true mystery of the AFL.

Tom Davidson, Lee Walker etc - sadly there will always be tales of unfulfilled talent like Rus.

I want to congratulate Hine on picking him considering that he wasn't on anyone else's radar. And although Rusling is probably finished it would be good to keep him on the rookie list...that's if he wants to. He probably wants to pull the pin and move on.

Good luck Sean and I hope you prove many of us wrong and do come back

Both Port and Essendon were keen on Rusling we just got to him 1st hence why we took him so early.

Need to persist with.

We are all aware of his talents. Shallow/compromised drafts over the next couple of years, is still young and KPP will become rare over this period.

As someone else said, a list clogger is someone without the talent taking up a spot. Rus is far from that.

Pods is 28 and playing AFL footy. Rus is what 23-24?? Must keep for mine.

I think the lack of awareness with what's going on is leading people to panic or jump to conclusions.

As far as I know he has been training and not playing which means 1) That he is not off the park injured and 2) Not retired or de-listed. Which I find a really bizarre suggestion anyway. If the club or himself had cut there loses it would be in everyone's best interest to put him on the LTI.

I am going to suggest we are just being super careful with making sure he is ready for competitive footy. The time he has spent time on the sidelines with shoulder injuries and probably his natural instinct to want to pull up to avoid collisions would have put stress on the rest of his body and they are now not focusing on the rehab of a shoulder injury but the readyiness of his body in general to make sure he has the best possible chance of staying injury free. It would be silly to take any risk what so ever of playing him to early. I think if he where played foward it wouldn't take him to long to regain touch and push for senior selection anyway. I reckon he has at least another fortnight before it will get really tough for him to push for selection.

very dissapointing. i noticed Sean in the lower grades training at Westies when i was there and he had so much ability is was scary. He wasnt there much cause of school footy but on the track he had great hands and was lightning quick. The fact Collingwood hid him and got him is credit to the club. Unfortunately it hasnt worked out as they both would have hoped. The one thing he has got on his side is his age but i just cant see the club going through this again.

We'd only be going for 3 selections in the next draft period wouldn't we, so I think he might be safe on the list.

After investing so many years into Rus, it would be stupid to let him go to another team when he's on the brink of recovery.

Has the minimum selections changed from 3 to 2 with the introduction of GC17 and GWS?

You can almost guarantee Corrie and Cook will be gone.

Rus should be safe.

What are you basing that statement on? He has or had speed and what else? Was not showing anything in the VFL, maybe a bit at full back but nothing up forward to say he is worth ANOTHER year on the list. Goldcoast bait for RUS.

Pretty obvious for anyone who follows the Pies. His form in the AFL when fit. Its a few years old but its the reason he is on the list.

To bring up last years VFL performance misses the point. Dont have to be Einstien to understand that is not the reason he is still listed

If you add O'Bree to that list with the poss of some or all of Presti/Fraser/Tarks to that list Rus is probably safe as long as he still has the desire to push on. That might be the thing that stops him

Would anyone be against him coming straight into the seniors this week against the Aints? Could do no worse than Jack at FF.

I would LOVE it if Collingwood spring a suprise, and throw him into the contest this weekend with Cloke's absence. Move Dawes to CHF, and give the 50 to Rusling, Medhurst and Davis.

yes. just play him ala brad dick! nothing to lose. If he is going to get injured it may as well in the seniors this will cause much debate but worth the risk.

i call it the sean rusling window of opportunity.. its only open for a certain period of time before it smashes hehe.

Trained well and all things going well will play reserves this week.

The nature of his latest injury was very unlucky. Good luck Rus.

So what was Exacly wrong with Rusling?
