I am just hoping that a few players like Lenny Hayes, Dal Santo, Kosi , and Reiwoldt ( yes he did some inspiring stuff but did not play a stong 4 quarters ) coming out of a quiet game against Port, will really arc up against the pies.

The space of the G will allow Riewoldt to do some real damage.

God we need Max to play..

the 2 weeks he has missed (Port + Eagles games), we have played arguably out worst 2 games of the season.

I hope maxy plays as we need him to play on IMO Medhurst/Didak.

Max is so important to our structure. This means one of our lesser defensive backs need to move onto a better forward. Like Goddard. This means our running half back flankers can't move into the midfiled and run off their man. This would be a thorn in the arse for Lyon as well, i can see how this would screw over his game plan at times.

Collingwood's small forwards are the big worry for me. Thomas and Medhurst can always kick a few quick ones. My prediction is that Riewoldt will carve it up, leading us to a 20 point victory.

How bloody handy would a fully fit Baker be right now? Would wipe the smile right of the face off any of Collingwood's many smug little sneaky forwards.

Yeh, Medhurst that soft little selfish bastard would get carved up by Bakes. Probably wouldn't be used to having a bruise after the game.

Has been confirmed that Didak was in the car despite Heath telling the football club and police otherwise.

Since today’s press conference, the Collingwood Football Club has established that Alan Didak was in fact a passenger in Heath Shaw’s car on Sunday night.

The sanction imposed on Heath by the club on Monday was a result of information stated by both Heath and Alan after being repeatedly questioned about the incident.

Given the club has now found their information to be false, it strikes at the principles of honesty and integrity that the Collingwood Football Club is built on.

For this reason, the sanction imposed today will be immediately reviewed by the club, and media will be notified of a press conference to be held on Tuesday.

Seems alot more likely they will be suspended for this weeks match. I still expect Collingwood to come out with rockets shot up their arses.

I think after tonight's breaking news we can safely assume that both Heath Shaw and Alan Didak wont be in the side on Saturday night.

I was on here earlier saying that I thought the Pies had done the right thing by not suspending Shaw for this weeks game, but this new information changes everything.

Big outs for the Pies. If they don't suspend them they'll look like complete fools (although they already do). Off topic but I get the feeling Didak might be Port Adelaide bound at seasons end.

Where is this Collingwood clown who was on here earlier having a crack because a St Kilda supporter said that he heard Didak was in the car with Shaw ??

Right here. Sorry I don't spend 24/7 on bigfooty. Read one of my other posts. I wasn't having a go at him for saying Didak was in the car, he didn't actually say that he was, he asked if he was. I wasn't having a crack at him, I said that it would be bad form and stupid for ANYONE to say things without facts. The facts are now there so go for your life.

On the subject of both Heath and Dids, they should both be suspended. Simple as that, with Didaks contract to be looked at when the season ends.

This game is a must win for both clubs, todays happenings have made it alot harder for us to win.

Good that didak isn't playing, as often when he is firing, he can kick a few gun-barrel straight goals.

Whatever happens the Pies are going to be pretty pumped up, and I doubt that they will suspend anyone.
IMO we should.
In - Hudgeton - Out Ball.
Gram to midfield.
Gwilt would be good interchange for Reiwoldt ( if he ever gets tired ) and Schneider.
Possibly Geary out for Birss.

I actually would prefer Shaw and Didak to play as I think them being there would show Coll are soft on their players and lack discipline therefore creating a destabilising effect. However if they do suspend them ( seems like they have no other option ) this would probably fire them up and galvanise them. I would prefer to beat them and not listen to any excuses from them.

Apparently Hudghton will not play either.

The Saints first thought that Ball had received a corked thigh but scans revealed the extent of the injury.
"Scans this morning revealed that Luke has strained his left hamstring. The strain is to the belly of the muscle, not the tendon. Luke will now undertake a standardised rehabilitation process for two-to-three weeks," the club said in a statement.
Robert Harvey, who received mild concussion, will be available for the important clash on Saturday night against Collingwood, but Max Hudghton, who strained a calf two weeks ago, will not play.

So, who will come in for Ball (assuming that this will be the only change and despite his somewhat poorer performance, King will stay in and M Gardiner will play for Casey again) ?

- Armitage (similar type of player, played below average in his last two games for the Saints, but was amongst the best for Casey this weekend - nevertheless, I would give him another week with Casey)

- Birss (never really deserved to be dropped in the first place, played a few very good games for Casey, had a phantastic game against C'wood earlier this year keeping Heath Shaw quiet - I would bring him in regardless of whether Shaw will play or not)

- Rix (played a few very good games for Casey and certainly deserves another game for St Kilda, but may not be the right candidate against the small and quick C'wood forwards - could also play as forward, but that didn't work really well with M Gardiner as a similar player recently)

- C Gardiner (could be useful for the open spaces of the MCG - I don't know about him, you never know what you get, I'd be surprised to see him)

- I guess that Baker, X Clarke and R Clarke (despite being named BOG for Casey on Saturday) are not quite ready yet and will need to prove themselves with Casey for at least another week.

back pedal, back pedal, back pedal

He should be over in Beijing - would be a monty in the rowing, as no-one could move backwards faster than a Collingwood supporter who has put faith in Alan "Back Seat" Didak.

My points :
1. You do not need a degree in human behaviour to see Shaw was concealing something (had his bullshitter face on).
2. How did Back Seat man get there so fast? Maybe Shaw did tell the truth "he was not in the passenger seat" (yeah Heath he was in the back!!!).
3. Why would the club have needed to question them repeatedly if they didn't think something smelled about the story?
4. When will the club just cut to the chase and put Back Seat Man in No.42 (the jumper of the untouchable).
5. When will the club announce their new sponsor (Cougar Bourbon)?
6. Does the club now need to advise the family of Lee Harvey Oswald (that Didak did assassinate Kennedy)?

SURE Maxy will be right... and monkeys could fly out of my nostril... Sorry, don't trust the Saints' staff when it comes to injuries.

This whole match has gone into a completely new dimension with the whole Shaw/Didak mess. I think Hoggy might be right here - fired up or not, the fact is that the Maggies will not have the time this week to tactically/mentally prepare for this game.

As for ins, Shane "I shouldn't have called the coach 'Dross'" Birss should be in, but won't be. Whatever it is that he's done, if he hasn't been picked by now, who knows when he will be. Armo will come back in. Geary MIGHT get another, but if he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised for Rix or even M Gardiner to come in, with either of them playing a ruck/floating-backman role. Not convinced that any of these moves are the RIGHT ones, but I suspect they might be done anyway.

I reckon I should try diving. My double backflips have really improved over the last 24 hours.

Congratulations thatday, you have met us in a land we Saints fans know all too well.

self-deprecation...

how crazy is it this game will most definitely be the clash of the round now no doubt - sat night isnt it primetime and all focus will be on pies how they respond. i think wakelinwill come in because staff said he didnt play last game cos there wasno matchup so im hoping shaw n didak out (i know this could fire up the pies) but lets face it didak is a pest and hard to control and if maxy doesnt come up our defence will be a bit weak. Although it seems based on the port n eagles game the more players out for the opposition the closer the game is - both port n eagles had pretty much their whole team out and we stil struggled.

The game against the pies earlier in the yr we could of won so lets hope we play decent and i think we wil have very good chance of winning if we find some form because i just think pies are struggling without that full forward w/out rocca and i can see riewoldt n kozi playin well and kingy doing well in the ruck. Just we will be a bit weakened without bally but i think we have to give birssy a crack hes bin knocking on the door for ages what more does he have to do! as long as raph doesnt come back haha.
