he's got good positioning and rarely bites off more than he can chew with his disposal (looking at you lav) happy for him to absorb lavs role next year as a backup key back

Well yes, it's clear he needs at least 2 years for the physical development needed to compete as the main man as an AFL ruck. Even then he may turn out to be more the Tim English type.

Much better essendon teams on paper have rolled over a lot more than this seasons team has. I think the batch of young blokes really show a willingness to roll up the sleeves and put in a hard shift each week (and they seem to like a scuffle more than older blokes too)
